Deep stacked play
the hand hand a straddle then restraddle to 10

UTG - 200 - straddle 3
UTG +2 - 190 - straddle 10
CO (Villian) - 210 - raises to 30
Button (HERO) (JJ) - 330 - re raises to 80
SB - 200 - folds

20 bb effective I can't see folding here.
You're behind often but you're paying 130 to see 300 or so, if he has AK in his range this has gotta be a call.

3 +10 +80 +210 = 303

We also do not know much about villain. How many hands does he raise? Does he like to re-raise? What does he think of you? Have you been folding to raises pre?

How many ppl total at the table? 6?

Also, is the villain in question primarily a tournament player? If so, he will show AQ and AK often enough to make a call correct.

If you have JJ and put in 25% of your stack, what are you hoping for? In the future, plan your hand out so you can get away from JJ if you think you need to.

What kind of a raise gives you information? Were you hoping to take it down preflop? Were you raising for value?

What other options do we have?

JJ is too strong to set mine with and of course, too strong to fold. What other option do we have other than as played? His raise was 20. You can raise to 50 or 60 here and show strength without being committed. If he comes over the top, we can still get away -- read dependent.

As played, I think I hold my nose and call.

A $30 re-raise is a very strong raise in a .50/1.00 game (unless this is a very loose aggressive game). That being the case you basically announced that you were willing to shove when you re-raised to $80. At this point there's so much money in the pot I would probably cross my fingers and ship.

It's very important to know what type of player Villain is. If he is a tight player then you are more than likely dominated and up against AA or KK. If he is a loose aggressive then you have more hand ranges that you could be up against.

My advice in the future would be to rarely 3 bet JJ, especially against a very strong re-raise in front of you. JJ really is not a strong hand when you are facing that type of action. Best bet would be to call and see a flop. You have position and position is a powerful thing and this is the type of hand that you want to use it.

Where's the background information for the table and villain - I mean we have a double straddle on and you haven't mentioned how tight/loose the table is. On a tight table JJ is but a bluff catcher while in a loose game we're taking our villain to value town.

Your first mistake is thinking this is a deep stacked hand. Once there is a straddle to 10, this becomes a short stack hand. Everyone has the equivalent of 20BBs.

If he can shove with AK, this is an easy call. If he'd only do it with QQ+, then it is a fold. Very few people would not shove with AK, so I'd call against an unknown. Then I'd contemplate in a short stack game why I want to 3bet if I'm even considering folding to a 4bet.

With JJ I would have called, not re-raised. Small hand, small pot.

If the stacks are so big, you might as well just make it a 1/2 game. Your straddles are essentially doing the same thing.

Fold, you are never, ever in good shape here. You have announced that you like your hand a lot, and intend on going the distance with it, by sticking in an 80xBB 3-bet over an opening raise of someone who didn't mind popping TWO straddlers. Villain doesn't care and shoves anyway. This means JJ is utter trash.

Best case scenario... he's got two overs and your flipping for stacks. Not my cup of tea. I fold in this situation.
