we bet turn cause we're floating, and got checked to.

we value-bet bluff this river because it brings ALOT of scare cards. and we dont think that you check a monster on the river. make it 110 on river for you to fold i think.

i like the float on the flop for lostontheturn... and after you smooth call it really is starting to shape villain(you)'s hand as an overpair or weak TP. I would never imagine you check/calling the turn and checking the river with a monster.

On river, i bet pretty much like i just hit the flush on the river. I bet just over $100 i think around $104 and expect you to fold most of your range and call with a Ahigh club draw that made TP very rarely.

He needs to bet on the river. I've played with him a fair amount (200NL) and he has called pf raises OTB with suited cards less than Ax before so I think he can actually rep a flush or full house by betting here.

What value is there in betting the turn? Basically the only thing you're doing is protecting your hand from a 6 outer, or folding out pocket nines.

Also, this is a standard 3bet for me PF.

betting the turn does a few things.

it can win right there, and avoid weird 6 outers. Also, if it gets called it gives you a much wider range to represent on whatever river card comes. You can shut down but also give yourself a better idea of opponents holding so therefore can accurately represent a hand that villain folds.

Bet the turn, pretty much just to take it down, and prevent free cards. Also, it balances your floating range when you have air.

Betting this river looks very strong. Against you, I'd probably bet it but I seem to get looked up by weaker players in this spot so much.

Results -

River: ($198.00) A (2 players)
Hero checks, LostOn4thSt checks

Hero shows K T ftw

It seems to me he either should have checked the turn, or he has to bet turn and river here.
And I'm pretty sure I fold to 120 on the river.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I make a lot from moving into check-call mode with TPGK in these spots. Even seemingly good players can't resist turning something with some reasonable showdown value into a bluff to try and remove hero from a seemingly 'weak' holding. The first note I look for on any player is their willingness to take over betting when I check a street. Many players auto-bet simply because I checked - lol.
