here's a situation I was in a few days ago , and I'm just wondering if this is an insta call

hero ( $250 ) ,UTG ( $90 ) BB ($88) , in this hand hero is UTG + 1

UTG limps for $4
Hero raises $12 ( pocket 10's ), folds around to BB who shoves is full stack in , $88 , UTG folds and its on me ...

is this an insta call ? the BB basically leaves no fold equity , and is pushing despite a tight UTG limp and utg+1 raising the utg limper , so the BB is almost positive he is getting called..

I try to put a range on the BB and can imaging he does this with less than AJ , and maybe AQ, but he def pushing with Ak and 99 and above ,

thoughts?

You'd think short stacks would know how to play against other short stacks...

If you're worried about calling 20bbs off when you have TT then you should be playing lower.

If you'd prefer a better answer, know how to answer this question any other time it comes up and generally improve your game then: 1) download pokerstove (pokerstove.com) 2) plug in your hand and run it against the range you give villain 3) figure out the price your getting to call and finally 4) compare your equity to the pot odds.

I or someone else could do this for you but, if you want to improve, you need to know how to do this yourself. I really recommend you play around with pokerstove until you have a good handle on your equities in various situations.

he had KK , and i made a read that this guy wants a call or even 2, i put him on KK,aa, and maybe AK . not even aq... i called , and when i called i was crying bec i knew i was behind

if this is not a level you should be playing 50nl

He made an interesting play with King's and probably deserves to get paid of with with a lower pair for limping and taking the risk (especially in full-ring)

I reckon 5/10 times he has 66-99, 3/10 AK/AQ, 2/10 he may have QQ/AA

So it's woth the call on the long-run unless the player is ubber narrow

I suggest you grow some balls and play full stack.
