Posted in CO, tried to pick up blinds. Villain is 36/22/2.9. He took time to call turn, and I got the distinct feeling he had a medium pair.

Player dependent of course, but it's a good board for doing so. Although I'd much prefer if the board brought a king or jack on the river. Still though when we 3-barrel here it would be a poor play for him to always be calling down with midpairs... mostly depends on your reads/stats.

If villain is calling down with midpairs here wouldn't we be playing TT-AA in a very similar fashion with the river bet acting as a blocking bet of sorts?

I think I'm repping a 5, Q, or TT-AA here.

Of course this is what you're repping, it's almost always ahead. I still think this is a little spewy though. Your range on the end is very polarized and without a good read he will probably look you up. I feel like double paired boards encourage stupidity, and he will give more weight to your position preflop, your being the opening raiser, and your polarized range than the $150 bet and the possibility you might have a real hand. It definitely is not the worst spot for a 3-barrel, but like some of the above posters I would be more comfortable firing the 3rd on a big card like a K.

Yeah, I agree totally, there are better spots for a 3 brl. My main question is firing river > checking and giving up?

Actually given his stats I think this villain might call kind of loosely... it's player dependent basically.

Plz don't try to push ******s off mid pairs on non scary boards. Give up on the river or bet a lot bigger.

Do you really bet TT like that on the river? Wouldn't you rather check call?

Depends. Vs a player this loose, sometimes. Vs a Tag, probably not.
