OTTH:

River:

($980)

Kc

Villain bets $500. Hero snap calls.

Thoughts: The one hand I was “still worried about” was AA which I’m now ahead of. FD busted out. If he’s got 8s full here I pay him off to his odd line. I can’t justify a raise as everything we beat we fold out and anything that’s calling has us crushed other than a case K/chop which would be wonky to show up here but not impossible.

Spoiler:
Villain says nice call, I missed and tables AhQh

I don't think you 're getting 3 streets of value here, because if you bet turn, villain doesn't donk river in all probability.

Seems to me that villain ought to have double barreled turn. Or maybe not have raised flop with AQhh, but with lesser flush draws that have less showdown value.

I don't think a worse K (KQs/KJs) takes this line, so I think we have to just call river.

Seems like an unusual hand to x/r the flop with. But it makes sense that he gave up turn since once we call the flop raise, we're repping AK, KK, AA.

I like the way the hand was posted in terms of each decision individually, that way we properly analyse each decision instead of already thinking about what happened next.

V is not very good. His value continues firing 99% of the time ott. You are looking him up otr with TT-QQ.

Grunching only OP

Call flop raise
Plan to call turn bet if FD doesn’t come in
Evaluate river bet if FD doesn’t come in.

If V bets some relatively large amount for the game (I’m assuming 1/3 since people open to 12-15), I might be folding the best hand some % of the time but people at 1/3 just typically aren’t good enough to bang in a massive river bet this deep with a missed draw.

If you fold on the flop you can get exploited a lot in the future. Calling flop and evaluting turn is the best option. Now on his turn check you can almost be prety sure that he has a draw unless he is getting cautious with KQ, KJ. Im calling river if the heart doesnt hit. As played now on the river, I dont like your river line. Why not raise? He can have some Kx that got cautious on turn and can call the river. Even if he is a good player he can give you credit for some missed flush draws that c bet flop and tried to check call turn (even with your 3bet pre). Maybe im being too aggro? What do you others think of raising river?

I like river raise because I dont think 88 or 22 ever get here like this. As i stated earlier it is hearts, AA or AK almost always.

You are putting AK and especially AA in a tough spot with little chance of being worse than a chop
