3! with a Cold Caller. How Should I play Flop? 3! with a Cold Caller. How Should I play Flop?

3/5 live game

The straddle has been on every hand. I have been active with 3!'s and 3! the last hand.

CO ($1,200) - no real reads, seems TAG, had made comments about being confused by small bets and what they mean. Has been open raising to $25 with the straddle on
BB ($800) - we have tangled a bit. He recently triple barreled me on a T64K2 board when I called from the BB and I folded river
Hero (covers) - active, 3! often

CO raises to $25
Hero 3!s to $80 with a range of AA-TT, AK-AQ, A5s-A2s, 45s-56s, 75s-86s
BB cold calls, CO calls

Flop ($240) QJ8
Checks around to me. With what hands are we c-betting this flop? The cold caller makes this a little tricky in my mind.

If I had to guess it would be that you'd be surprised how often we "should" check back here.

Also your BTN vs CO 3bet range construction is a little off imo. You never 3bet T9s/89s? Never 3bet KTs, QJs, ATs, AJs? Seems off to me.

If we're going by the range you gave then I would imagine we should check back 100% of the time.

It's more important to realize a spot where you should be doing one action significantly more frequently than other actions than it is to know exactly which combos you're doing it with imo

Probably the best /thread post I’ve seen. Lock her up imo

That hits villain ranges pretty hard. But I probably bet AXcc, QQ+, and AK. Bet AQ if I have the Ac. X back everything else.

I don't think you have enough FE for naked bluffs with SC hands.

Hmm if Jarretman and Avaritia say x back everything they're probably right, though I'm wondering why exactly...

I mean I wouldn’t check back sets/QJ/T9 but I’m checking everything else including clubs.

I also wouldn’t be 3betting the lower suited conntetors (if any) and I’d only have the A5s wheel combos. But as JM says I’d have tons more suited broadways and the bigger sc’s.

I’m assuming we are btn.

As noted in the forum rules, we have bias against made up hands against "generic" villains. The thread devolves mainly into a discussion about what type of villian we're up against. Therefore as Avarita suggested, I'm locking this up.

As to why to check, it is because most of Hero's range missed this flop. The small part that did is mostly weak FD. The villains appear to have adjusted to Hero and aren't going to fold anyway. So why bet?
