ive been playing a good amount of 2/5 nl lately and my game as been generally tight aggressive. Ive noticed a good amount of players open raising with semi wide ranges ie 20 percent suited connector 30 percent pair and 50 percent and two picture cards. Ive been thinking about 3beting these people late in position with the intention of stealing pots pre flop, or 100 percent continuation betting 60 percent pot post flop. do you guys think this can be profitable when most players are in the 100bb range. Im assuming that my 3 bets with generally be in the 15-20 bb range.

It can be profitable if they are opening wide. But generally:

The better they are the more I would be 3 betting them light w/ a polarized range. The worse they are the more I'm only 3 betting them w/ a value range and still mucking my garbage.

The key is the range. Most LLSNL players don't raise pf lightly.

15 - 20BB 3-bet sizing is way too big to do it light, especially with 100bb effective.

Generally these games get deeper, lots of the guys are incredibly tight and unwilling to stack off light, so think if you're a young guy and got to showdown in a 3bet pot with junk then game flow can really help you as the old guy will starting peeling your 3bets with k9ss and calling down.

If they open wide, then 3 betting is mandatory light.

However....

At live, there are a lot of nuances to take into consideration --and how to exploit them postflop.

Depends on their open raise sizing, their range, and the eff. stacks 100bb. I dont like 3betting big opens light if the players arent deep.

If you have a player opening to 25 or 30 with 1k in front I would definitely 3bet light if they are opening wide.

If they have 100bb stacks and raising the same amount I would probably 3bet smaller and most likely wider for value.

Completely disagree with 3bing light being mandatory if someone opens light.

100b stacks make no wiggle room because the standard opens are 4x 5x 6x. Not 3x close to 100% of the time like online.

The bigger the open, the bigger the 3bet. I'de want to be 200bb+ before I even considered it, because I know noone is 4b bluffing me.

meh, do it for value. ppl dont fold and you're ghana get owned a bunch when they call and you have rags esp in a sqz spot
