Villain (EP): 50ish brown guy, big station ($170)
Hero (MP): mid 20s asian, tight image ($400)

One limper and villain makes it $7. I make it $25 with AK. Everyone folds and villain calls.

Flop: JT4 ($55)

Villain checks. Should I bet here? This flop obviously favours his range more but I have two overs and a gutshot with a backdoor king high flush draw. And by betting small here I can take control of the pot and likely see a free river. Only worried about getting check shoved on.

Nope, I like to check because hits our fishes range too much.

The BDFD actually gives more merit to checking than betting this Villain.

Stacks are too shallow V probably not folding anything better than top pair.

In this spot, if we are 200BB or deeper, I'd like to Cbet bluff with AcKx so we blocks more of his flush draw combos than AxKc, So we can barrel on club turn and Q turn

Check here in this situation

Check back. A cbet practically commits you due to his short stack. Bet all turns if he checks again.

Why do you want to bet when checked to on brick turns?

Preflop: $25 isn't a mistake, but $20 is better because that number gives you more wiggle room to play postflop.

Flop: As played, bet $35ish. Yes, this is a coordinated flop that hits a large range of hands, but a calling station's range is so large that there are lots of hands that he'll call with preflop that he'll ditch to a flop bet that are either ahead (low, mid pocket pairs) or behind (suited connectors, random junk) that you don't want to give free cards to. You'll also want to bet to charge legit draws a price. Finally, if you're called and hit one of your many outs it will be easier to get the money all in than it would be had you checked behind.

Just my opinion...

I expect to never get check-raised. Extract value from some worse hands like AcXc and other flush/straight draws. Nothing wrong with winning the hand on the turn if he folds.

Ic. Fair enough.

Just keep in mind strong players will c/r turn and 3/4 bet river a non 0% of the time

Yeah, maybe like .5% of the time. No one really x/r two pair or a set once PFR checks flop. Good players are leading this turn at a very high frequency with bluffs and value.

Vs this villain though..? I wonder if open shoving is the most +ev... will he really call all in with a pair of 10s?
