call with a view to taking a flop and re-eval from there.

once we hit the flop our equity goes up considerably against lower pocket pairs

Raise 8-10BB cause you don't want to give them a cheap flop and outflop you obv.

Remember that AA is only the nuts BEFORE the flop, once all the cards come out any two cards can win.

I fold this about 30% of the time, because AA only wins small pots and loses big ones.

Gotta fold, as it's hard to play big pairs OOP.

Wait for a better spot IMO.

My standard is 3BB. Sometimes 3.5BB on Full Tilt. Sometimes 2BB when I play with donks like Keli or Epi. Sometimes 1BB. But never 0BB.

GM only made this thread so that he could get the swing voters for Kel's poll.

This post isn't nearly funny enough to put GM anywhere near my poll, sorry...v214, however, should have been included, along with miaowmiaowchaoface or however the **** it's spelled

This is a really interesting spot that I don't think we've covered enough on this forum.

First of all, shoving is +EV vs. any calling range, so shoving is better than folding, meaning folding is out of the question (except for the 5% of the time you fold to mix up your game).

The minraise is all the rage these days, so I like minraising UTG+2, then check/minraising the flop and min-reraising until all the money is in. If he just calls, either minbet the turn, shove the river or minbet the river to get max value from his range.

However, minraising preflop doesn't adequately represent the strength of your hand, so some % of the time you should be raising to 10xBB to keep your AA from getting cracked, or limp-minraising to trap.

Best of luck.

Start off by limping...then attempt the trifecta

Grandmelon please do not listen to the advice given so far. All of their plays are severely suboptimal. Some of the posters above are obv not good at poker. I however have vast experience and can tell you that raising somewhere between $18 and $24 is best. Don't worry about having to ask for advice, we all find ourselves in tricky spots. Gl with your game, keep posting here and eventually you will have a solid understanding of nl. I will try to help you when I get the chance.
