Hero is early 20s white guy. Played with villain once before, seemed solid. Reg at casino. Talkative at table, friendly with most other players/ dealer.

Villain is a baccarat player. Early 30s asain male. From my experience bacc players tend to be very wide open and have no regard for money but this player has been very solid throughout the session. Shown down winners, been patient.

OTTH.

Hero: $900

Villain: $500

Villian limps UTG. BTN limps.

We have AQo in SB. We raise to 30.

Villain calls in rythum.

BTN folds.

Flop: AK7r

We bet 40. He snap min clicks back for 80.

I call. Turn is 4h. (No heart draw).

I check. He bets 120.

Hero???

Raising from SB is pretty strong (or should be), yet he calls, min-raises flop and continues on turn? And, he's playing solid and showing winners? I might just fold on the flop, but I think you can safely fold the turn. Never show.

What hands are you continuing with? AK+ or sets only? Seems like we'll be folding too much if we fold AQ on this flop, but maybe it doesn't matter against this line?

Sounds about right. That limp UTG then showing strength against a SB raise is pretty strong, especially for someone who's been patient and only shown winners against another competent player. Was probably planning to limp/re-raise but decided to slow-play. He's setting it up perfectly to gii on the river.

What on earth does he put H on that he takes this line with that he can't beat?

it's ok to call the flop raise, but when he continues betting 120 on a blank turn, you can give it up happily. Depending on how "straight forward" you think he is, there's also merit for folding to the raise, unless you think he's doing this with worse.

also he didn't click it back, he made a min-raise. CIB is when there's a bet, a raise, then a min-re-raise less than double the last bet (true min-raise).

Need reads how loose he's limp calling (are AK, A7, K7 in his range?). Need reads whether he's passive or aggressive.

If unknown I guess just muck. If hands above aren't in his range wtf could he be raising with besides unlikely 77?

Ugh. It's hard to believe villain is over valuing top pair based on your read. Flop is good. Sigh fold the turn.
