OK. I think you should have 3-bet preflop as you will sort out all those Acerags that brought you in trouble here. ;-)

I call this. if he has the Overfull he wants to get some money, doesnt he? You will see the 55 + 77 + some flushes here a lot of the times. Unsure about that shove by him with overfull. really. doesnt make sense to me :S

Result?

Good Luck.

MP is supposed to be a good player and flatcalling with AA is a very bad idea when you are 250 BBs deep..

I believe that rerasing with 99 against a 17/3 who is probably even tighter in early position is like burning money. You are never ahead against his range. Call to hit a set.

If he's as solid as you assume, he would correctly bet the flop with A7 after PF agressor checks, and if he has A5 he probably would correctly donk the turn. Only hand I can imagine him having that beats you is A9 or AA played poorly.

Then again, if he has 77 he should have also lead the flop, and I'd have to think he'd fold 55 to the flop bet obv., so I don't know of many hands that he's calling the flop with that we can beat.

Statistically speaking, if your read of him being a strong player is correct, it's a call. I'd imagine more often than not that he had one of the hands I mentioned earlier and just played them wrong, but he might have a busted flush draw a good amount of the time as well considering how little sense it all makes.

BTW: Firing the flop is turning your hand into a bluff, as only weaker pocket pairs and air will fold. With that mindset, if only the PF aggressor called the flop bet I'd fire turn again in hopes of getting TT-KK to fold. In this case, I guess it's OK to check turn back. What I'm saying is in general I check this flop back.

And only receive action from superior hands? PF is fine.
