5/5 game 9-handed. Effective stack is around 600 right now.

Hero in BB with 22

HJ limps in, SB calls, and hero in BB just checks. Pot is now $15.

Flop comes 2h3c7s rainbow. SB checks, hero checks, HJ bets $15, SB and hero both call. Pot is now $60

Turn comes 6d. SB checks again, hero checks again, and HJ bets $25. SB and hero both call. Pot is now $135.

River comes a 5s

SB then over-bet shoves $320 into the pot. What should the hero do?

I guess probably fold at this point, but you should have definitely bet or raised somewhere on the flop and/or turn. What were you waiting for?

I think I was trying to slow play the set but yah agreed that a raise on the flop would've been a good idea. Better to not play that pot multiway when we have bottom set but with a board that could possibly leave us vulnerable.

In these multiway hands with one card completing a straight and people doing that, they usually have it.

It would also help if you can give some kind of reads on the villains, even if you don't know how they play like how long have you been at the table with them, do they play a lot of hands, are they tight, aggressive, laggy, etc. All of these decisions are fist based on the player's reads, whatever they might be.
