Last year, I met up with prairiebreeze, feel wrath, BiteMeFish, BigSkip, and robfarha, and we all had an absolutely fabulous time. We had an AMAZING dinner at Yardbird. Vegas is an EXCELLENT town to share a meal, or grab a drink!

We all agreed that we should do a better job planning this for next year, so here it goes! I know there are people all over the world that’ll be in town for parts of the summer, plus the folks who live in and around Vegas.

The dates I’m looking at are June 14 - July 2. I’m gonna play the Colossus, both Deepstack Events, and the Monster Stack. If the Monster Stack goes well, I might fire the Millionaire Maker, too.

I’ve got an Airbnb downtown, but I’ll be Ubering all around the resorts and restaurants on and off the strip.

I’d be willing to grab a meal or a drink with (most) of you!

Post the dates you’ll be in town, and we’ll see what we can work out.

@TJ Eckleburg12, I'd be down to meet up. Currently looking at Airbnb and other sites for good deals. Curious what you found and how much you paying per night.

When you’re searching Airbnb, keep in mind that the nightly rate you’re quoted will go up once the cleaning fee and Airbnb’s fee are tacked on. I was seeing about a $30/night difference between what was advertised and what the checkout price would be.

I’m gonna be staying in a 1bedroom studio downtown, and I got it for about $84/night total, after all fees.

In the past, I’ve stayed in the Arts District, but the prices I was seeing were more like $100-$130 a night. For that price, I might as well see what I could find on the strip at an actual hotel.

Downtown seems like a seedier area than the Arts District…. But as long as I’m not walking around late, falling down drunk, with money spilling out of my pockets, I think I’ll be alright.

Just don’t make eye contact or break your walking stride when someone on the street says something to you. Bums, tweakers, or hookers…. Nothing good comes from opening an interaction, so I just don’t.
