$200 effective stacks. Villain is better than your average live player. Is capable of limping big hands or raising sc type hands in ep. Pretty straight forward post flop. Is capable of bluffing.

Villain UG limps
1 more limper to Hero in CO
Hero limps 22
B and blinds limp

Flop $12: 887

All check

Turn $12: 2

Checks to Hero, who bets $5, B calls, blinds fold UG raises to $15, other ep folds, I call to keep B (fish) in. B folds

River: $47 A

Villain bets $22. Hero raises to $60. Villain shoves. Hero???

When I raise to $60, I think 'fold to shove'. Now not so sure. Was my turn raise sized correctly for this line of thinking, or do I have to call. Should I have raised in the first place?

Raise is fine OTR. Tough fold but I think it's the right one. He's never bluffing here; all the hands he does this with beat you.

Sorry you lost the hand. the tone of your post makes it obvious that you called and got cooled. Sucks, but it happens.

This is an obvious call. He limped UTG, so it's tough for him to have 8s full of anything. If he has 88/77/AA, so be it. We already have $77 of $200 effective invested, and no one at the table puts us on a house here. Call.

My biggest problem with the hand was my raise sizing OTR. Does anybody size this differently?

Actually looks like a solid sized raise, I'd have given a range for the raise size as $55 oin the thin end and $70 on the high end

Raise the turn to 60 to set up a pot sized shove on the river. If he shoves turn call obv. Keeping the player who just flatted 5 bucks on the turn in the pot should be much less of a concern than getting all in with your monster.

The read is that he's straightforward post flop. That means he's got in his mind a big hand on the turn for him to check the flop and turn, then raise.

Therefore, his range is 8x or 77. 99+ would have either raised pf or at least started building a pot by the turn to get some money in before a cooler card comes. That means the limping hands are A8s, 98, 87, and 77. Of these on the river, you only beat 98 and air. You should have called behind.
