keli and epip have informed me that they no longer think they will be able to make all the matches and thus would like to withdraw from the tournament.

i've pm'd the alternates and let them know their place in line so to speak. they all have 24 hours to respond to my PM. if person in 1st spot doesn't respond but 2 and 4 do, than they will be chosen, etc. i hope that makes sense.

all sidebets should obviously be considered nullified. sucks that this happened, but at least we don't start until sunday.

Also, I think its complete bull**** to withdraw and there should be a penalty at the very minimum (I'd suggest $50 and I think thats generous). This is ridiculous as almost 20% of the field has withdrawn after a bracket was made. Its not like this was a spur of the moment thing either since we've been discussing it for months now.

It was more along the lines of, oh ****, we're gonna both be minraising preflop 200bb deep over 5 matches, wtf this is gonna take forever...and I'm gonna lose so so much money by only playing 20 cash tables at the same time...and then I'm gonna have to play 5 more matches again, lose even more EV, etc....and if I win, wow, omg 1800 dollars I'm super robusto...not.

I dunno, the more I thought about it, the more I realized: #1 this is gonna take for ****ing ever, #2 I'm gonna lose a lot of EV by not playing cash, #3 there's just no money involved in this tourny for me to take it seriously, and #4 lots of other people actually want to play

As for redoing the brackets...that would be beyond stupid and **** up all the side bets except for just a cpl of them, esp since imo pattay and bottomset are both in the middle of the field anyway.

If withdrawing actually affected anything other than a couple of people's side bets which can be redone in like 5 min, I most certainly wouldn't have done it...or if there weren't a lot of other people who wanted to play. Yes, I probably should have put more thought into it, but whatever.

Who cares about the money. Seriously. It's not like any of us are going to be hurting before or after this tourney. It's not going to change anybody's life. I'd rather play a fun tourney than post in this forum all day. Besides, you can play 24 tables of cash and HU sngs, there's no cap on sngs. I mean if you can't, you probably aren't that good, and need to get more skills. Back to your cage!

When the new names are announced I'll put my same bets back out there, 50 even money on each match, whoever wants to bet can pick the first four matches. Also ptero I might take a winning it all bet, but I have to think about it...

Guys I realize it's pretty gay what i'm doing and I expect bitching, but if it ruined the tourny and there weren't a good amount of people who wanted to play (but couldn't because it was full), I would have stayed in, but I figured it wasn't a huge deal if I dropped out since there were plenty of people who wanted to play a lot more than I did. It will only ruin a few sidebets anyway (and I was involved in most of those sidebets too).
