Hero CO: White male 20yrs old hoodie. Just sat down a few hands ago, showed some agression in only pot I played where I raised it up pre then raised the flop and took it down.

V1 BTN: Male 20ish, dark skin, pretty vocal, folded to a river check raise recently saying "why can't I get a flush" Seems competent but gambly.

Effective stack= 190

Preflop: limp, limp, Hero looks at QQand makes it 15. V1 calls, 2 other calls.

Flop (~60) 89j

Check, check, Hero makes it 50, V1 calls, 2 folds.

Turn (~160) 7

Hero jams for 125.

All input appreciated

I would check/shove the flop. Now you are just hoping he didn't have a combo draw since the only other hands you beat that call turn are AK/KJ or like KQss.

Why would AK call this turn shove?

There are 3 villains in the hand and 2 of them have already checked. There's too much of a risk of it checking through if hero doesn't bet here. Preflop and flop are fine imo, and I think you have to c/f turn even though it's so gross. There are certainly worse hands in his range but they'll have trouble calling a shove on this board.

Didn't realize hero was third of the four players to act. In that case I would bet flop too, but turn is a c/f against your average player unless they are ever calling with just Jx instead of a combo draw....I probably would have bet 40 on flop so I could get away from it on turn if a bad card came, but still have a PSB left to shove turn if it bricked. ~2/3 pot is also what I would be betting all of my Jx/combo draw/flush draw hands with here too, whereas something close to a PSB on flop just looks like an overpair after raising to 15 PF.

50 into 60 on the flop is actually going to scare a lot of people at a 1/2 game. It's correct to get a stack so that you can just shove the turn. But I don't think these villains are going to continue with just one pair. 2pair or a draw only. And the turn isn't actually that bad. Spades don't get there and the 4 straight probably scares the 2pair hands away.

This.

But as played, I hate turning this into a bluff, but I think the turn shove is still what you need to do.

A bit of a tough spot ... I would go smaller on the Flop so that you can overshove the Turn card if you like it. My Turn would be c/c if a reasonable sized bet and then call most Rivers being cautious with spades (not too worried about clubs).

Looks like you could open for a bit more as well to eliminate this type of situation or just have the ability to slow play this more when this type of Flop comes out. GL
