what do ya'll think of my preflop play here

1/3 nl ~180 eff

im in utg+1 w/ a4ss open to 12 co calls, btn puts in a min 3 bet to 25 i 4bet to 85 co folds she jams for about 180 total i call

definitely the worst par about this hand is that the stack sizing just really wasn't there like at 150bb you could def pet 1/3 pot if v flats on a lot of flops (or is this just punting your stack lmao) whereas with like 60bb that wouldn't make sense. even tho i feel like against her button min 3-bet range of hands, i'll have a lot of both fold equity and just equity. do you think this is this a good sizing or should i have made it bigger/smaller... idk she basically ended up being at the top of her range , but still do u think this 4b is way out of line against a basically unknown low stakes players? and i def could have folded pre suited aces are probably a leak for me haha... idk u ever 4-bet bluffing? ever?

1/3

~500 eff

$6 straddle on , 2 mp players ljmp , btn raises to $30 i raise Ako in the bb to $100 utg (straddle) goes all in for $328 , btn folds i fold..

btn in this hand is a player who i think is a thinking player who i think will look to balance his range in spots where he can raise from position, so i think putting in the 3b to $100 is a good play because i have a lot of fold equity in the hand against all players , and with a good amt of dead money especially when i have ak oop winning pf would be fine. I also think i will have very good equity against a lot of his 3b flatting range and have some of it completely crushed , so it could also actually be a value raise.

folding to the cold 4bet i thought his range was mostly aces n kings , and didn;t think I had the equity . I don't think this was a gto fold at all though.

Hand one is total spew. I don't mind mixing it up with an open occasionally, but A4s is generally a fold in EP. Once you get a min-3-bet, fold immediately. 3-bet ranges are so tight in LLSNL, especially when they are sized for "please call me." You have basically zero FE and at best 33% actual equity, imo. Her range is KK/AA. Maybe if you have reads, she has some combos of QQ and AKs. Basically never 4-bet bluff in LLSNL. No one has a 3-bet/fold range until proven otherwise.

Hand two seems OK. If straddler is an active player (many who straddle are) I'd consider calling it off.

Just to add on H1, @60 bbs effective opening this hand is going to leave us little room to maneuver post flop oop.

Grunch

H1 is a snap fold pre at this depth and position. The rest is just a punt

H2 is good. You're not that deep so yeah calling off can be ok but best case you're flipping and you are never way ahead. A lot of the value associated with jamming AK is getting ~JJ- to fold so calling it off isn't as appealing.

H1 is setting money on fire on every single action, imo. (I'm too lazy to stove whether we're forced to call the eventual shove but we should never be in this spot)

H2 I find a pretty gross spot facing the initial raise at these stack sizes and with this amount of limpers (and thus potential callers if we just flat). Kinda think all our options suck and I'm not convinced which one is less sucky; 3betting is awesome if it takes down the pot a lot, but things can go sideways real fast if that doesn't happen. Facing the cold shove is probably a stove / read thing; my guess is that we shouldn't be folding AK too often preflop having gotten in 1/3rd of our stack, but I guess it depends on tightness of cold 4betting range.

I mean, hero is opening a4s from ep and then calling off. If hero is also been 3betting a lot, I think calling AK might be okay. Btn being a thinking player could be evidence to call here actually. Its whatever though.

No point in repeating what everyone said about #1

H1 fold pre the first time, and call the 3-bet.

H2 Id call off.
