900 eff... Villian in this hand is recreational tourist who is sitting on 1500, loose passive, doesn't read hands, playing kinda tag but missing some vbets etc, he is bb

I over limp 66 in cut, hj short stack on 100 makes it 20, v calls in bb, limper calls, I call

Flop 9 6 3 sxx rainbow (pot 80)

Cks to me I ck thinking shorty will spaz w everything, he cks

Turn Js... V now leads 35, folds to me, I make it 95, short folds, he tanks, asks how many bills I have, then makes it 200

We?

From the info given and the correct read that V is a recreational player with a loose range..... His less than half pot bet with draws on the board is a natural feel value bet whether he realizes it or not so he feels strong about his hand. I put him on J9, a decent chance that he is poorly trying to be tricky with a big overpair AA, KK, QQ, or JJ. There is always KsQs, QsTs, 8s7s but doubtful rec player would reraise often based on our passive read. I would make another small raise to 400-500 based on the facts that 1) we feel he really likes his hand, 2) we are only beat with JJ or 99, 3) we doubt he is drawing at this point, and 4) we want him to feel pot committed for all his chips in on the river.

Sorry you got coolered by a higher set. I'd reraise to $500 and shove most rivers. You don't want him to fold by shoving so a small raise keeps him in. His most likely hands are J9, 99, 33 and he could have QQ+ or some random two pairs. You are way ahead of his range. It's just a matter of how to get him to put in his stack and reraise small is the way to go

I don't know if he's going to have a higher over pair here (AA/KK/QQ) - would he be 3-betting those pf? Would he be leading out on the flop with TT+?

I kind of like a call here. Raising only gets called/reraised by hands that have you beat, other than 33.

Reeval on the river.

I think your switching CO and HJ around...

And if you were expecting the shortie to Cbet so you can C/R that's a mistake. Short stacks generally don't Cbet unless they have the goods since it commits them. And a short stack with a premium hand that would Cbet this pot generally cbets larger PF. Just bet the flop.

Hero's image would be an important consideration.

Opponent leads for <1/2 pot into 3 others. Not sure what to make of that sizing. Although his raise to $200 shows strength, our hand is well-disguised. I'd stack-off here, if beat so be it.

I think flatting may leave some value on the table with stack > pot on the river. Small 3-bet on turn, AI OTR. Nh.

I'm never folding, but not sure if small 3-bet or call is better. I don't want to scare him away. Not many river cards change the action -- except maybe a spade or possibly a K or 8 (if V has a ridiculous QT, which people seem to love to play, but I doubt he re-raised you with). Since you already slow-played on the flop, probably time to small 3-bet and gii on river (as samo wrote).

FWIW, I do like a flop bet, but check was OK considering shorty should bet.

Edit: Your description of V is a bit all over the place. What is your image?

I can't imagine not betting this flop against a loose passive touristy villain 180bb deep. Total FPS (although you then say he's playing TAG???)

As played just call now

You've got a loose passive fish on the line with a hand that he likes and a range that you are ahead of. Get some money in the pot. I'd raise to 450-500 and shoving the rest on the river. never folding.
