Quick info for context:

Hero: Winning 1/2 player (avg 7bb/hr over the last year,approximately200hr). Decided to take a shot at 2/5 at Winstar last Saturday. I was clearly viewed as the new fish, as everyone knew everyone. I typically play a very TAG style, but will often use that image to make plays in good spots/ position. My raises were generally getting plenty of respect.

V1: Older Asian guy. He's only been sitting for 1hr,and ive seen him showdown 3rd pair, a rivered straight, and fold what I expect was missed draws. Doesn't seem very strong, but not a complete moron.

OTTH:

Effective stack $700(v1)

V1: utg+3 makes it 25

V2: LJ calls

Hero(SB): KcKd($850) 3b to $75 (in retrospect, with our position and the caller, should have made it $100+)

V1 calls, v2 folds

Flop: 10s Jc Qs(pot 175)

Hero: bet $150
V1: snap call

Turn: 9s(pot 375)

Hero?(625 stack)

I'll be glad to fill you in on the rest of the hand, but I'm curious how a more experienced player would handle this sloppy wet board out of position.

For sure more pre. Just "overbet" shove flop and let them deal with it.

Also you only have 475 eff left AP, so just shove now too.

I don't see too many spade draws in vil's range. Also fewer combos of AK because our kings block. Green light to dump more money in on every street.

I'd check call flop. In a 3b pot, that board should hit his range pretty hard. Would you have called a raise?

As played, AI on turn … agree on ^ post.

This.

You have to shove the turn. For V to have a flush, it usually is AK, but that would have made broadway and a spade redraw. V usually would raise there and charge sets and two pair hands that Hero could have. A9 of spades would be a pretty loose call of a 3 bet. Your straight is usually good here.

Hero:I figured I'm way ahead/ way behind but can't fold here....check(wtf did I just do!! Even as my fingers tap the table, a voice in my head is screaming at me. I could paint myself in a better light, but, honestly, I guess I got scared by the spade). As I sat there, he pretty quickly pushed in. I sigh call, to see AJs for a turned flush.

The result is the result, I am more concerned with learning the correct line for this spot. I was pretty sure this flop hit his range, probably better than mine (he can have all the sets, 2p, several combo draws, pair and draw),and, when he called the flop, I was unsure if I shouldve bet or checked. The 9s hit and I wasn't sure what to do.

If I check/call the flop, what do you do on a blank turn?
What about x/c the flop, and the 9s hits?

Honestly, I was playing way more cautious than I normally do at 1/2. I think I psyched myself out thinking the 2/5 players were soooooo much better than my usual competition. Some were, but not this guy.

Long time lurker, starting to take my game more seriously, so you'll be seeing more of my monkey ass.

Thanks for the feedback.
