What do you guys think of this spot.

I open UTG to 20 with As5s

4 people call and V makes it 120 in the BB (very aggressive player) opening way too much and squeezing a lot but folds and maybe even over folds to aggression.

We have 650 . Is a shove okay? Looks like an obvious squeeze spot for him.

What's his 3bet range? (an important piece of information that was left out)

If he's light, and you think he will fold then it's fine. You're hand would look like AA/KK

fold pre too next time fwiw

Agree A5s is a little loose for an UTG open.

The way you describe V makes him seem like a good target for a 4bet bluff, and I think a shove is the only option to do that here.

That's the kind of high-variance play I don't really care for though. I guess if I were going to try this move I would probably wait for a hand less likely to be dominated by his 3bet range, like a pocket pair, in case he talks himself into calling with AQ/AK.

I also don't like the open. It's a tough hand to play heads up out of position unless we ck/fold a ton. And if we are, why open it? Are do we expect to steal many blinds from an utg open?

As for as played, I guess you can shove. About $80 in dead money can't make it too bad unless V has exactly AA or AQ/AK (I think you can fold out other Ax)

I think opening is probably fine, as played against the super aggro it's 4! or fold IMO. Leaning more towards fold, BBs move looks pretty strong regardless of image. Flatting is pretty bad IMO, hard to flop your FD/2P and you lose your stack with any A if V has you dominated.

Agree with others. Too loose of an open UTG (unless you have a huge advantage post vs. these players), and shove or fold. Seems ambitious to shove, but against the right player it's good.

I assume the players in between are deep (not going to sigh call for the price) and give no indication of wanting to call. I also assume you have a solid image.

If you think the guy is squeezing as wide as KQo/AJo then I don’t mind the jam with A5s since you should get enough folds. Think you need 50% or more folds to turn a profit with the jam. I assume he calls off with JJ+,AK, AQs, or 36 combos. If you can find 36 combos of hands he would squeeze and then fold I’d say go for it? Like if he always squeezes then folds AQo/AJ/KQ/TT you are good to go.

If there’s a lot of squeezing and multi-way pots in your game you might be better off folding A5s UTG. Your Ace is rarely a clean out multiway and if you get squeezed somewhat frequently it’s probably a -EV open.

I'd fold utg and fold to the 3! but maybe there's some metagame consideration you can come up with for shoving. E.g, if you are going to stick around a while, this hand will get you action in future hands (but be prepared to dial it back)

Fold. Why are we thinking about opening this UTG? This is a late 3-betting hand, not an early opening hand.
