I have $500.

V1 is a total maniac (has $200). He came to gamble, he looks like a Mexican narco on vacation and full of machismo. He ran his stack from $500 to $1700 in 20 mins playing every hand and running like Jesus. The inevitable caught up with him and he lost all but $200 of it in the next 15 mins.

V1 is now steaming mad at the poker gods that made him lose his rightfully earned mountain of chips and is now in open-shove-every-other-hand-mode (seen him shove QTs).

UTG folds, I look down at TT in UTG+1 and see the maniac in CO with his hands on his stack primed to move in.

What's your plan and why? (there's lots of people in between me and him with $300-$600....)

Open raise. You might get one or more people to flat call your raise before he ships from the CO. Then you can re shove to isolate and play heads up vs his wide range with extra dead money in the pot.

Raise. Then shove. What else are you thinking? Certainly never folding pre. Are you thinking limp/shove to look like AA?

Concur. Open to $15 or 20, then shove when it gets back to you.

OK, if we open and get a flat or two from "normal" players in between and the maniac shoves $200, we make it $500? We're not afraid of the flats? That's my main concern.

If you are afraid of flats then fold to Vs shove, it would be bad though...

Your over shove should iso anything but KK+ vs most players, QQ+/AKs for a few. If KK+ is out there and were sure enough that the maniac would shove that it didn't 3-bet themselves, oh well. If we flat the maniac's shove, others will likely over-call and we are going to end up c/f a lot of face-high boards. And that will suck.
