lol, thanks for the responses guys. I really like how there's two distinct "schools" of thought. Most think it's an obvious shove but some think villain has AA. Where you fall likely depends on how you play. What I don't think I can do here is call cuz I'm either way ahead or behind, so only shove or fold makes sense.
From an objective perspective, both shove and fold is fine depending on your style and experiences in prior encounters. I in this particular instance, gave the villain enough respect to NOT put him on AA because I think it'd be horrible to flat a raise with AA and have only limpers behind to act. I think the villain did what HE THOUGHT I DID by attempting a steal, so I shoved without any hesitation.
Villain insta-calls...
It's customary at this casino for all-ins to not showdown till all streets are dealt, but villain breaks decorum and lifts up his cards to show AA. I of course
and flips over my KK while the guy next to me says he folded a K...
Alas, the dealer spikes a J K 4 flop and I catch my 1-outer, but of course nothing comes easy and turn was a Q giving him 6 outs on the river. River was another 4. All's well that ends well and I take down the biggest pot in my poker days so far, and fwiw, it's my 2nd time playing 2/5, last week being first.
I'm not sure what to get outta this hand, am I ever folding in that situation? If I were to do it again, I think I'd still shove. But I will fully consider all possibilities when putting villains on a range in the future.
