2/5 fulltable, i had 1000 stack, villain asian, tight, 500 stack.
UTG +1 limp, villain on utg+2 raise to 30, i'm next to him call with AQ offsuit, fold around, limper calls 3 ways ($95)
flop AK5 Rainbow, limper chk, villain bet 45, i flat, limper folded. (185)
turned 5, villain chk, i chk behind fingure i maybe able to milk out a bit more on river by chking turn.
river Q, villain bets 50, i thought about calling, but that wasting hand value just stuck in my mind so i raise to 150, he tanked, all ined another 250 on top......
please help me break down the hand and walk it through, help me make clear what should i have done?
Should I even bother raise on river?
Now that I face 3bet all in on river, it is a fold now right? Because I'm just not beating anything other than KQ which I think would just flat the raise...
Reason why i didn't put him on qq is because i think with ak on flop, he would just chk knowing i'm tight also.
Also i didn't put him on kk because even though it turned a boat on turn, but you would bet the turn do your best to build the pot knowing I at least have a ace in hand right?
anyway, i sucked completely, think i was just tired brain can't function well.
U need to fold now.. Not sure why you're calling pf but w/e.. Villain seems like he is either value betting u to call with weaker Ax or block betting and folding to raises.. So either way raising is bad.
Turn check was to induce a bet, and he bet small on river, figured you don't have much. Tight villains make small value bets, hoping to get paid off without scaring away opponents.
I don't like the river raise at all, what can he call with that you beat? You checked to induce a river bet, so call his river bet, and if he has you beat then you lost the minimum.
Also the fact that you flatted the flop, checked the turn, then 3x raised the river is representing a lot of strength. So for him to re-pop you on the river must mean that he has near-nuts.
next time you post a hand like this, please cut off the action after the villians river bet. I think you're slaughtered now, and folding to his river 3bet is trivial, IMO. Not that I am doubting the above posters unanimous condemnation of your raise, but I think you'd have a more open, spirited discussion about that decision without revealing you got 3bet. It's virtually the same as posting results.
If Villain is indeed "tight", I would fold pre. I like the check behind on the turn. River, I would just call. I dont see anything that you are beating that will call a raise on the river.
