Took a shot a 2/5 after a decent session at 2/3 this hand came up within the second or third orbit.

Folds around to button (aggresive post flop player, played a normal amounts of pots often limp calling in position) who limps for $5, I'm in the SB with KK, I raise to $27. BB (who from what I can tell is a LAG'ish type of player) calls. as does the button.

Flop: AQJ

I thought over it for a while, maybe a check/raise or even a check/fold but decided I was reprsenting strength pre-flop so I lead at the pot for $55.
BB calls as does the Button.
I really have no idea of where i'm at now. Prob just going to shut it down unless I can peel off a card.

Turn: 9

I check, BB checks, Button checks.

River: A

I think there is a chance my hand is good, but I guess i'm just trying to get it to a show down.

I check, BB checks, Button shoves for something like $350.

I'm stunned by this bet. I fold as does the BB.
When he left I asked him what he had and he told me he couldn't remember. I think he was talking sh*t tho.

Anyway feel free to rip me apart. I was clueless after the flop, turn & river.

Thanks Guys

Given that you're OOP your flop bet is okay, as is your plan to shut down if called (unless you spike a T or something).

On the river checking announces you don't have an ace. Against straightforward players this isn't a problem, but against tricky and/or aggressive players it can put you in a tough spot if they make a big bet.

If you want to get to showdown and you think there's a good chance your hand is good on the river, I'd throw out a small blocking bet -- somewhere in the $55-$75 range. You'll almost never get bluff-raised on this board, and there's a chance that QJ/QK/QT will pay you off given the good pot odds.

i totally agree, just block bet the river 1/3 pot mayb less even, if he's good enough to raise your block bet knowing you have no A then he deserves the pot. maybe your hand is best maybe it isn't but checking the river is only gonna giv you a tough decision when anyone fires a bullet. IMO it wud b a very crazy place to raise you on the river unless you were beat that board is scary as all hell and every player in the hand knows it

That flop is terrible, it nails your opponents' ranges. c/f and just give up on the hand, hope it goes to free showdown.

Hate the idea of block bet on the river, what exactly are you trying to represent where you could possibly check turn and be strong enough to call a river raise? Any good player is going to see right through this and raise you off the pot.
