2/5 live 4 handed, villain will call big bets with draws, a loose gambler. He felt really comfortable at the river and started to say "I will be honest, I only have one pair, you missed your flush draw and you don't have an ace..." He seemed so comfortable I don't think he was bluffing here, AQ? K

Calls? I think you are committed here. Getting 3.44:1 on a call. I agree, his line seems pretty nutty especially combined with the speech, but I probably still call.

Gross spot here for sure... With the speach its a fold but he can have so many weird hands here. I guess KdJd is the most likely. But we cant fold can we>?

Shouldn't we put villain on a hand before calling?

To break even we need to be correct 22% of the time, but what do we beat?

Call due to the pot odds and the amount we already have invested, lose a huge percentage of the time because the speech generally means he has it.

but if he has that then he can also have K

AQo is definitely a possiblity but so is AJo/AKo that could conceivebly play this way. I´m calling and just against that narrow range we are winning enough of the time.

I can't see AK/AJ played like this at all. Most fishy villains are either donking or c/r'ing the flop with TPTK imo. River shove is almost never just top pair. Really looks like one of 2 hands with the shove and then the speech: KdJd or AQs/o.

Maybe he missed his flush draw and using reverse psychology. Plus you say he is a loose gambler and probably donked bet the river cux only way he could win pot by leading out.

If he is loose gambler:

Is he the type to 3bet with AJ+ or big PP ? Also, why wouldnt he check raise you with straight flush draw?

I would call him.

Thanks guys, villain ended up having pocket Q

and hit his only out on the river...the speech was scary but i eventually made the call...didn't think i could get away from this one with 2 pairs

Wow, Villain called over half his stack when there was an ace on board with Flush potentials. I'd take a photo and make sure I always ask to move to his table. His play is so bad its hard to believe. If your wondering if there was anything you could have done or anything you missed then rest assured you didn't miss a thing. This was just awful play by Villain.

On second thoughts the only thing u may have missed is the dealer winking at the villain at the start of the hand. Telling him dont worry your 1 outer is coming on the river
