V: plays well against me. Probably thinks I’m okay overall. Pretty LAGGY overall but definitely understands some GTO Stuff

H: stuck a lot I cover V he has like 550

IMPORTANT: another V in this hand is extremely loose and 3 bets like 75% of opens very small sizing (usually will min raise)

I open kd10d in HJ for 15 v calls button special v makes it 55 in SB I call button calls

(165) flop Kh8h3h

SB checks I check button makes it 100 I call SB folds

(365) turn Kc chrck check

River 4c I check he jams for like 395

Thoughts

why not 4bet pre to isolate the villain who is 3b light with stuff like 73s (per your other thread)?

by just calling the 3bet, you are playing a bloated pot OOP to a competent villain with a marginal hand and a low SPR that is going to pot commit you with top pair type of hands.

villain could have literally anything here from value (nearly every flush combo, KQ/KJ, 88/33) to a bluff with a naked A blocker.

i would fold and reassess my preflop decisions.

Honestly because I know when I 4! It he will just shove all in.

Which raises another point… should I only open hands I intend to get all in pre In a game like this?

It’s extremely high variance.

It’s tough a “standard” open pre from V is 50 so it makes playing lower pocket pairs , A10 off? 78ss difficult.

He could literally have anything

You are too high up your range to fold river vs. a LAG villain.

then you GII pre with a range advantage and either stack him or reload and find another opportunity.

it's a better strat than playing large stack committing pots OOP to competent villains.

Yeah that’s a fair point. It makes sense of course ..
Sometimes I can be risk adverse and not take +EV edges…..

Against the V who 3! All the time very high up lol… literally goes all in with anything 105 69 A3 etc etc

You have to call off here and hope he doesn't turn over some stupid crap like low-medium heart connectors. The way you played the hand looks like it's capped you to AhQ/J/T or medium pairs like 99-JJ that are likely to fold to that kind of aggression, while his hands could include basically everything.

Yea we gotta 4bet him pre, if it was a single raise then yeah we have options to flat but once he goes 55 it's either a raise or a fold. Raise to like 165 or so.

As played I would call the river vs that loose finger presser

I also like to 4bet preflop, much rather take the pot down now or get heads up in position with the idiot player.

How sticky is the SB idiot postflop? Button's largish sizing is rather suspect. I think you can call the river, depends how much he is going to depolarise and jam with a wide range. Most people won't, so your weak kicker has little relevance. If he's "laggy with wannabe GTO vibes" then he's going to bluff an awful lot
