Hero $1300
UTG J J
Open 20

UTG+1 All in for 104
This guy is an absolute fish who has lost most of his stack in the few previous hands and is most likely doing this with a super wide range.

MP Call 104
This guy has been playing loose passive. Calling a lot of 3bets and has been running well. He is almost totally absorbed in some card game on his phone and pays very little attention to the table. Covers hero.

Folds around to Hero, Call.

I think my main mistake here is not 4betting preflop.
Any thoughts on 4bet size? I'd make it something like 350

Also the turn raise could have been larger.

4b preflop

Turn raise is just way too small

Obviously you have to 4b ... if only because putting more money in on the flop will look super strong with a dry side pot.

On flop it might even be worth raising, although both options suck.

Your best turn sizing is really weird, his bets are screaming "I have a pretty bad hand, probably with a Q, T or 7" and the side pot is 100 after his 60 bet ... anything too big and he can just shrug and fold everything worse knowing he'll see it and UTG+1 is defending. Like you make it 400 here and he should fold pretty much everything you are in front of and that 1% of the time he had QT you get stacked. Maybe he somehow has 99/88 sometimes or even J9 and will call it off, but an extra 200 a lot of the time (when he has 16% equity and might be scared of spades) is much better than 400 rarely.

BUT on Q rivers (and other mid draws hitting), you have to check ... if you bet and he calls it's because he has JT/T9/T8. Again, it seems very unlikely he has AQ/A9/A8/99/88 given sizings on previous streets.

As others have said ..... 4B pre, $300ish.

Turn & River - larger sizing.

Thank you all for the replies.
100% need to be 4betting preflop here.
When I bet the river I was targeting all of the the 2 pair hands that would be calling.

The board is: A9x8xJQr
You have JJ.
He is loose and bet tiny on flop+turn.
So AQ/AJ/A9/A8/J9/J8/98 are all unlikely, the Jx because of blocker effects and all of them because he didn't bet much before your turn raise.

QJ/Q9/Q8 will probably call river at least sometimes if he called turn with them, but he has a bunch of Tx and things like spade draws or 87/76 which need to bluff.
