Playing 2/5 with effective stacks of 520

It was late Friday night at a loose table. I hadn't been playing many hands and should have had a tight image in theory.

4 players limped to me in the cutoff. I raise to 50 with 7h, 8h. 3 of the limpers in earlier position than me called. (212 in the pot)

Flop comes 3c, 4c, 6s. First three players check, and I bet 150. Only the first player calls, 30's black guy. (512)

Turn is Qs, and we both check.

River is Ah. He bets 300, and I fold. After I fold, he shows his hand 5h, 9h.

He commented that I couldn't have had anything since I bet big on the flop and checked the turn.

Did I make some errors here?

If a $50 raise pre is getting 3 callers I just limp pre.

I would check flop. I only c-bet air into 3 players on very good boards (K62r for instance). This is not a good board to c bet and doesn't really hit your range at all.

Most people limp 87s after 4 limpers. I like raising it a fair amount of the time, but not normally after 4 limpers. I certainly wouldnt raise it to $50 and definitely not at a table where a $50 raise gets 3 callers. That's pretty ugly really.

So, yes, I would say you made some errors.

Here are my requirements to raise a suited connector

1) I can either take it down preflop and steal the blinds and limp money (at a tight table where a standard sized raise will win the pot preflop). Im not going to make it $50 just to try to take it down. Thats way too much compared to stack size.

2) I can get to the flop either HU or 3 handed. I want to be able to C-bet a good amount of flops and take it down unimproved often enough to make the play profitable with ATC, but also have some serious equity with certain flops.

As played, Im never ever C-betting the flop you got especially as bloated as the pot already is.

I think the PF raise is kinda spewy especially since stacks aren't deep.

Flop bet is also spewy imo in such a multiway pot. I'd rather check back and hope to hit my gutshot.

As played, I think shoving the turn is a good play since the Q is a scare-card to hands like 67 or 65 and potential 77 or 88.

Also, don't post results of the hand.

error is preflop
AP u gave up OTT no problem with folding river.
better play would be bet smaller OTF and boom the turn

A is in your range, he did a bet u are scared by Q/A and Ac can be in his range with a missed fd but paired up.
no problem.

standard hand imo.

+1 at a loose table u go to see flop, u dont iso. If u like to raise to 50 then go play 5/10

I don't mind pre if that 3! sizing has been taking hands down or getting it head up.

Slightly aside one of my pet peeves is the whole "find the sizing that gets it heads up". In most every game I've played a 6X open gets it's HU sometimes and gets 4 callers other times. In LLSNL people are playing their cards and one caller for an open or 3! can easily lead to a cascade.

I hate the flop c-bet with air into 3 callers when the board completely misses your range. I check this flop pretty much 100%.

AP yeah the turn give up and river fold are fine.

I don't always play 87 sooooted, but when I do, I make sure I play it four ways with an SPR of 2.5. Then I bet the flop when I'm probably way behind in a four way pot on a board where I am going to get called down by a wide range of hands in a spot where I basically can't double barrel people off much of their calling ranges due to stack sizes

You need to reexamine every part of your thought process in this hand, I really dislike flop and preflop. You are lighting money on fire playing like this

You absolutely cannot play this way at this loose of a table and expect to make money. I suspect that tightening way up would go a long way for you.
