Friday night game, soft table.

V is a rec player, not too much information.

OTTH - 2 limps, and V limps in co, Hero overlimp in the btn with T7hh, sb raises to 35, and all limpers call. 5 way to the flop (bb fold).

(175) Flop 542hhh, check to co jammed allin for $685. Hero???

This is kinda ridiculous, I don't think any kind of player would shove for bluff, V would only shove with a strong hand to protect as this is a wet board.

What should Hero do? it is apparently all other players would fold as their reaction when Hero tank.

I am still working on my game but I do not think I could find a fold here. Just to many hands that he could be doing this with that are not better then ours.

How do you not have any reads?

At least give a player profile. White guy? Black guy? Asian guy? Grandma? Midget? Tranny?

Snap. You’re far ahead of sets, straights and naked A.

Call and hope board doesn't pair.

I think it's in the category: "Fist bumb the dealer and buy a ticket to Vegas call"

You're in advance of sets (most likely), and even if he has straight, 2p, overpair with Ah, or naked Ah...

Enjoy the Bellagio

Why would he overbet shove a big flush?

Typically people like to slow play a bit with the near nuts. I'd call and expect to see more straights and sets than made flushes. Also CO has 4 combos of straight with NFD he may play like this.

Fish logic is that they have the best hand right now, so they go all-in to protect it. They don't care or know about extracting value. They don't care that they are miles ahead of two pair or a set. I've seen this many, many times and been stacked by these clowns more than once.

If I thought villain was fishy enough I could find a fold here.

Yeah it is a ridiculous spot.

^ I see it more with small flushes afraid of the NFD than big flushes afraid of sets drawing to boats. Kind of makes sense since there are tons of combos of NFD and only 9 combos of sets.

Edit: though there aren't many lower flushes than hero's and I suppose fish might do this with K-high flush and lower; plenty of them available I suppose.

Not sure I'm calling pre, but OTB I think it's OK given the number of callers. However, I let it go now. With more info, it might be a call.

I assume hero covers villain?

Not liking preflop too much, limping could be ok but I think a raise might be a better.
As for the hand I think i would sigh call, just too many hands that we beat that could be shoving here as previously mentioned

Yes, I covered him.

I can think V is a tight/passive rec, and probably couldn't evaluate his hands properly sometimes. It is kinda of mix feeling of his shove. I assume his range to be flushes without Ah, sets (55/44/22), Ah3x, and maybe 45s.

I ended up calling, and V shows K8hh, and we lost.

I think fold is standard assuming villain understands hand values and doesn't run wild bluffs. Maybe we are good 25% or slightly more of the time, but not enough - also villain will have meaningful equity when hero is ahead except if he has a smaller flush.

Where I play It's almost alway a flopped set or straight. Fish always trying to trap if they have the nuts.
Sigh Call.

I call, think this more often not a flush.
