So we sometimes get a hand from the SB thats good but not quite good enough to raise into a crowd but enough SDV to raise IP

I of course thought of an interesting solution.

4 limps hero covers table most have 200bb

Hero dealt KT on SB, completes, big blind checks

Hero bets 20 in the dark

AQ2

BB (2200) raises to 60 folding everyone out

Hero?

lol @ betting 20 in the dark

not nearly enough information regarding the BB to accurately decide what to do from there. But we have the NFD and a straight draw. Calling or raising depends on the player who just raised you.

Why betting in the dark?
There's no upside to bet in the dark. In any poker game, being limit or NL, you absolutely can’t win, no matter how smart you are and no matter how well you play, if you don’t get good cards and good flops. I do believe that Hold’em is a flop-game, so if you can see three cards relatively cheaply it is generally a good idea with speculative hands. The problem is that sometimes you get raised along the way, and now your speculative hand has turned into an unprofitable one!

So, betting in the dark pre when there are over 2.6mn combos of 5 card hands on the flop it's worse then slot machine. Betting that $20 preflop as a 2! is a superior play vs. your betting in the dark same amount. This for sure.

Now, after the flop the question is irrelevant because you got lucky and have a draw to the nuts. Not because of your brilliant preflop play but by the Grace of the Mighty God
