Villain is hero's friend, a very good LAG, has a wild image, 3-bets a lot pre-flop and stays aggressive if opponent shows any weakness.

Hero has a TAG image, viewed by villain as an above-average Reg on the table.

$2-$5, villain posts $10 kill OTB.
hero has ~$2000 behind, and villain has hero covered.

UTG passive-fish calls $10, UTG+1 passive-fish calls 10, folds to Hero;
hero raises to $70 with AK;
SB folds, BB folds, both limpers fold; to Villain ...

Villain raises to $240;
Hero 4-bet to $610;
Villain quickly 5-bet to $1010;
Hero shoves all-in ...

line check please!! Is this shove too light?

KK and AA are definitely in villain's range, but villain is doing the same thing with QQ, AK, or even pure bluff like QT (villain 5-bet shoves all-in earlier preflop with QJo) ... JJ, QQ, and AK are the hands I try to make him to fold here ...

Holy crap.

Hero has to have some pretty lousy hands in his range for AK to be reliably ahead. I could see him 3betting some speculative hands, but are these in his 5betting range? Against a TAG player? I have to doubt that.

You guys were obviously weaned on the internet and so I'm sure you know more than I do about 4betting ranges. Just wondering though, even on the internet, do you 4bet AK? I mean, if I were going to 4bet anything other than AA/KK I might do it with 72o just for giggles. Not sure I would ever 4bet AK, just seems like a waste of equity.

I mean, heck, no matter what he has, you might be loving life on the flop. You're 30% to hook up and there's every possibility he comes bombing along with his jacks or nines. Why don't ya just call the 3bet and see what happens?

Man. Where do you guys play?

Too much meta game for those who don't know the V to help you much.

Given descriptions and that you have position, though, I much prefer a flat of the 3-bet. After you make they 4-bet, your shove is basically only folding out bluffs, and maybe chops, since half of effective stacks are in. I'd flat the 5-bet and GII on any flop, since it still leaves some bluffs in his range.

Crazy reg warring is not the way to smooth profit. Sure hope you can handle some serious variance.

Why are you sitting to the right of a deep stacked lag who likely knows your game and will 3bet/4bet light and make your lift difficult?

Seat change please.

Grunch...

This guy has to be an absolute maniac for me to get 2k in pre with AKo... And he is your friend?? He would have to be the "LOL, I'm going to bluff the **** out of my friend" type friend for me to consider putting a penny in after the 5bet...

Also, I hate to break it to you, but your friend is probably not good if he is putting 2k in with QJo.

The fact that there is a $10 kill, and this is actually a 2/5/10 game doesn't change much IMO. Fold to the 5bet.
