This is online I dont have HH but remember the hand..

Villain TAG good reg
Me TAG in this session, paid villain off twice on his 3barrel when I had 2pair both times

PF 1 raiser, I flat otb with 23 Villain completes in SB, BB calls

FLOP ($48) J97

Checked around to me I bet $48, V calls others fold.
(note last time I potted flop I had TPWK Villain saw)

TURN ($144) J97A

V checks, I bet $144, V calls quickly.

RIVER ($432) J97AA

V TANKS & checks, Hero TANKS & checks. We both had about $300 behind.

uhh i don't understand your description of preflop, so i'll assume you called a raise with 32s, which is universally bad.

On the flop, do you bet exactly the pot with anything else but a huge hand?

I don't much mind the river check. I don't think an ace calls ever.

i dont see anything wrong with the hand as played as long as you pot the flop and turn without a huge hand every once and a while. .

once again I like your line... ;-)

villain had A8, I can see why he tanked... was probably deciding between betting with his disguised hand & c/calling but decided against betting b/c he couldn't stand a raise.

Showed this hand to a friend and the line of a small riv bet, what if villain CRAI do we call? esp. doing it with the hand he had...

That would be one sick CRAI eh??

If so then shouldnt we just check back.. I mean there's not much behind if we bet small and get shoved on.. I guess how deep we are determines whether we call this C/R... only asking because if villain is sick and c/c flop & turn then c/rAI riv that's a pretty sick strong line..

No. If you belive this, you have fundamental flaws in your game.

nah I was just going along with what you & my friend were saying.

of course in this situation I calculate the EV or if I dont have time, just give approximate so if its better EV to bet small for value than checking back even if we'd fold to a shove, I would bet. fwiw I am leaning towards the idea that I probably missed some value here after he tanked before checking as it usually suggests a made but insecure hand. however could he do the same with a made, middle flush deciding to c/call instead of betting? absolutely. so I'm not 100% convinced that a bet is best but I will think about it some more.. ;-)

If he had more money behind, I can see folding to a river c/r, but if we bet $177, I'd never fold for $123 to win $786...

With the line you took with this hand, and the board played out the way it did, getting check raised on the river would be super WTF though lol

edit: that's another thing to consider, you PSB'd the flop, and PSB'd the turn... he's got like a 3/4PSB left in his stack... if he river'd you, I think he'd be a moron to check to allow you to check it back with a hand he's beating
