Ive been playing all day long with nothing to show for it. Made about 150 earlier playing 1/2 and finally had some more players show up to get the 2/3 game going.

Mr. Action who ive played with before but always plays PLO when it runs and a reg I talk with show up. Its been about 30 mins and Mr. Action is RFIing over 50% of hands, hes making wild bluffs, and hes liberally calling 3bets but hes running insanely good and has gone from 100 min buy in to 300. Hero is very card dead for quite a while now down over 200.

Mr. Action annouces hes going all in blind preflop this hand bc "i need to build a stack or might as well leave". Hes in the BB but there is a Button straddle so hes acting 2nd. SB folds and sure enough he goes in blind for 300. I watched very carefully to see if he would look at his cards and he didnt.

Folds to hero in LJ w A8s

Is it worth it to call? We are a favorite over a range of all random hands, but theres several people behind me still to act. Theres also a consideration of if we should even take this gamble considering there are 2 other fishy action players at the table, though not as extreme, and we have a large edge over them by just playing tight ABC poker and theres a weak reg in the game too that we can run over with aggression.

It all depends on if you want to gamble. If I had $200 or less, I'd probably go for it, but only as a gamble and only if I can reload.

I would guess that with 3 still to act that it might be a fold but I could be wrong and it's probably close?

FWIW, there's more reason to fold here if you're deep with terrible players you have a massive advantage over and there's a BI cap which you'd fall well below if you took a hit here. Otherwise, the main consideration (apart from perhaps the cons of taking a mental hit, which shouldn't be discounted) should be the EV at hand.

If I was closing the action I might consider playing it but any PP after you is probably calling too

Well at least it's better than playing all night long with nothing to show for it.

But once we call that puts smallish pocket pairs in quite a spot. Heck, it even puts a lot of dominating Ax in a spot.

Yeah, depends on stacks, med and large PP's and AK will be thinking "he only called, so he can't be all that strong".

Yeah, definitely not thinking that TT+/AQ+ are folding if we call, but 99-/AJ- are kinda in a gross spot (and we get some "I woulda called if you didn't" folds by better).

This was one of the things I thought more about after. Like obviously if someone wakes up w QQ+ behind me they are going with it, but they probably fold stuff as good as AQ, maybe even pocket 10s and jacks. In game I thought I could be crushed against someone behind me, but I think its actually very unlikely they call unless they are really short.

I've gambled with worse hands for more money.

Fortes fortuna juvat. Fortune favors the bold.

So do the Poker gods, apparently. They love rewarding degen shenanigans.

Get it in. Double up or go out in a blaze of glory. This hand might be the start of a rush.

Man i so wish I did it. Of course a short stack called and I wouldve hit nut flush. I ended up being mostly card dead plus run bad the rest of this session and the next and down about 700 since then.

Fortes fortuna juvat indeed. I think im going to need to go back down to 1/2 for a session or two at least.

I know that feel. I had a bad run at 2/5, and dropped back down to 1/3 to rebuild my bankroll and my confidence.
