Villain (300): middle 40s arab guy. I think he is a Bad recreational Player, being at the casino for Having Fun. Looks like a mafioso. He is New at the table, he always Limps/call preflop And gives up OTF.

Action (9 handed)

UTG fold, V call 2, Hero is dealt JJ And raise up to 16, fold Around to Button, Button call, blinds fold, V call.

Flop (52) J56 rainbow

V Check, Hero Bet 30, Button fold, V think 30 seconds And raise to 60. Hero Tanks And call.

Turn (178) J5h6Th

V Check, Hero Bet 80, V fold.

I think he tryed to Bluff me Out, the Board was extrem dry. OTF i Decide only to call, to give him the chance to Fire again.

How have i Played? Its in your opinion better to reraise the Flop?

I think you played it about as well as you could have. Nice hand.

It's always v dependent, but I usually prefer to reraise rather than slowplay with hands like yours vs rec players, since they can't seem to lay down tptk/tpgk and are all excited looking at the flop, especially if they've been folding a lot and might feel tilty & ready to take a stand. Get the money in while they're excited, before they get mubs.

But overall, still very v and situation dependent.

against an opponent like this i'm probably just raising otf. more likely to just flat against bluffy opponents so i give them a chance to continue ott

NH. WP. Although I like a bigger bet OTT if he has something like KQ and tried c/r bluffing the flop.

I don't think there was much more to win here. You gave him a chance to fire on the turn and he declined and you appropriately bet. Not much else to do with the information you gave. I'd be surprised if he would have called even a min-reraise on the flop.

I think it's fine flatting his min raise. But why bet on the turn when he checked? My as well check again, he's likely drawing dead and if he hits something on the river you might get some value, or maybe you'll convince him you were drawing at something and he tries betting again. I think I have to check the turn behind.

Why would we check when villain shows strength? We're trying to maximize value, not play fancy mind games. A c/r at these levels usually means a big hand, and if it isn't then it may have been 2 overs that now turned a draw. A check OTT would be terrible IMO.

Yeah you got max value IMO there are way to many scary river cards so you can't check the turn to disguise your hand. Nothing you could do to get more

You seriously think he has a big hand when he min raises the flop and then checks the turn? I made this exact mistake once after being minraised on the flop when I flopped broadway. I reraised him and he folded and showed, all he had was top pair.

No one at these stakes is going to min raise the flop with a really strong hand and then check the turn. You've got to be kidding. He was obviously trying to steal the pot.
