2/2/3 NL: 2nd pair in a bloated multiway pot 2/2/3 NL: 2nd pair in a bloated multiway pot

9/10 handed 2/2/3 NL ($2 on button) $200 max buyin. This is a hand my friend played that we disagree on. Wanted to post on here to see what you guys think. He is a very good winning live player, plays mostly LAG and we talk about poker a lot and different lines to take, etc...

1st or 2nd orbit, no real reads, players seem loose passive. Only player we care about in the hand ends up being UTG+1. White male late 30s, wearing ear buds, a baseball cap, mirror tint oakleys, and has a goatee.

UTG folds, UTG+1 ($110) limps, folds to MP2 ($150) who limps, HJ limps, Hero ($350) limps in CO with 6 8 BTN limps, SB ($200) raises to $12, all players call including BB (7 players).

Flop($80): T 6 3

SB cbets $20, UTG+1 calls, MP2 calls, Hero calls.

Turn($160): T 6 3 T

SB checks, UTG+1 bets $45 leaving himself around $35. MP2 folds. Hero?

Thoughts on line thus far?

To be honest, I have a lot of problems with this.

First, just fold pre. What are you limping to hit? two pair? straight? This is just wishcasting. Also, with that many limpers, if you are coming in, rep a hand with a raise to 10-12 BB. I heavily dislike limping behind. I'd wait until I got a much better hand though.

Calling the raise is doubly terrible. Why on earth do we want to play 86 offsuit seven ways with 6% of our stack in preflop?

Flop may be a call simply because of odds to hit 2 pair or trips, but I can find a fold here a decent amount. 8 of spades is no good so we really are 4 out hunting.

Turn is an amazingly obvious check/fold. You saw a pot seven ways. Four people to the turn. Someone has a ten here a lot. UTG+1 is so short they aren't folding anything if you shove. Dear Lord, just fold. No one is folding their J10 to you here.

This isn't LAG at all. This is calling station play. A LAG comes in here for 10-12 BB, thins the herd, and can c-bet this flop against 1 or 2 others knowing it was pretty good for his hand.

This seems like a great table provided you are willing to pound it with premium hands. No need to play fancy here.

i fold pre here given stack sizes, if everybody was deeper i dont mind calling if we dont think but/sb/bb are going to raise it. fold flop, fold turn, i dont see why were peeling the flop at all. way too many ppl in the hand and im 100% positive were behind and dont even know which cards we can catch up on. turn is just a no brainer i dont see what the question is.

I don't mind limping pre in the CO here, pretty easy hand to get away from. Anyways I wasn't expecting any other responses than the 2 above. The turn is a very trivial fold imo. Anyways my buddy ended up shoving turn and was drawing dead against the ten.

I love to play weird hands like that in a muilti way pot but only when I hit a monster flop other wise I shut down with them, Only way I'm continuing is if I hit at least two pair or straight draw.

Still heavily disagreeing with your preflop call and justification. You are a short stack playing at a short stack table (200 max buyin and 2/2/3 blinds). You have 67 big blinds. What can you limp with here?

Then, the call of the raise after that is worse. Threads here constantly harp against limp calling, especially with bad hands. That's the ultimate fish play. Yet you are justifying it just because the pot is big. THAT IS WHAT A FISH SAYS TO THEMSELVES.

This hand is not LAG; it is fish spew.

Please come to my tables then and play a 67 BB short stack like that.
