10h7h on the BB, multiway-pot. First hand of the session 10h7h on the BB, multiway-pot. First hand of the session

Blinds 2-4 EUR Hero 50BB deep, stack sizes at the table between 25 and 75BB, 100EUR to 300EUR

Vilain stack 300EUR, very fishy, loose-aggressive. I see him play any 2 from any positions. Very loose agressive. See him make very bad plays and calls with bottom pair, gutshot, etc…

First hand of the session

Vilain is utg+1 and raise 16. Mp call, sb call, hero in the BB with 50BB stack and 10h7h, call 12 more, pot is 64.

Flop 10 8 5 rainbow. Vilain cbet 26. Mp call, hero (check) call 26, pot is 122

Vilain range here is still any two, weakish cbet. I worry a little bit about mp, which seems pretty straightforward, passive player. Could easily have 10 with better kicker. But top pair and 4.5 to 1 on a call. So call.

Turn is 7, still rainbow. Vilain bet 36, mp fold, hero (check) raise all-in 158.

I narrowed vilain’s range to 10x, 9x, combo like 109 or 98, or ev. straight draw like 67.
I shoved for value as vilain called far too light in many spots in a game played before.

Any thougts about the hand ?
50BB to play is not so effective to start a session maybe ? Too many showdown, people call you lighter, etc…
107suited is too loose defense on the BB for a first hand of the session ?

Thanks for your thoughts and ideas ☺

Personally my first couple orbits of the session I try to get a feel for the table and how the players play and play SUPER tight so this is going in the muck being the first hand of the session.

That being said, even if it was a couple hours into the session I still don't defend that much with T7 suited if this guy is as loose as you say he is. Wait for a premium or set mine his whole stack into your direction.

Short-stacked OOP I fold this pf, but as played I'd do the exact same thing.

Fold pre

Fold flop

EZ game.

As a poster mentioned above however, there is a good shortstack strategy to be playing here, Aggressive, aggressive, aggressive (Hint, never "defend" your blind SS). If you aren't 3 betting this pre (And I think you should fold, ofc), then fold and don't give it another thought.

He can't have J9? This is a ridiculously easy fold pre.

Thanks for your comments. Definitely thinking that playing a bit more tight won t hurt my game :-). You just confirmed my thoughts.

J9 not really. (can be wrong but) Have a pretty good read on the guy. His Cbets flop and especially turn are weak to me.
