Granted, not a big favorite, but enough that we should bet, considering there is money already in the pot.

Maybe this particular board is too wet to screw with, I'm not sure I would try and push this edge if I felt like I would get some better spots, or if I could simply fold and rack up a winner. But if we're playing +EV poker, we need to bet on this flop. Simple as that.

Despite the wetness, it's really hard for a villain to have us beat on this flop. Our most likely customer is a draw or pair+draw. So the question is, will those hands check through, or will they bet. If they will bet, then a check/raise/fold line is preferable to bet/fold here.
