1000NL Is he making a stand? 1000NL Is he making a stand?

Hi there

The table is 1000NL. Villian and I have a bit of history.

*I have been raising preflop with more hands then usual, and often taken the pot down with a Cbet. He is the type of player who notice these things and dont tolerate it for very long. This broadens his range.

*We both have a stack of 1000 usd

*His stat (from 150 hands)

vol pot: 14%
vol pot sb: 27%
Flop af: 3,5

Its folded to me, and I raise 40 in Cut off with 99. Willian calls from the SB

FLOP: TJ8 Pot: 90

Villian check. I bet 70. Villian Reraise to 210

Is the above information a good enough reason to shove? How do you see the situation?

All comments are very welcome

i like checking behind on the flop since you are only getting action from better hands/draws and I would hate to get pushed off my hand by a flush/straight draw here.

as played, this is a raise/fold although i lean towards folding (i can't believe i said that)

i agree checking behind here on the flop would have been better. As played it's hard to say as you've only given history as far as you raising and cbetting alot. It's hard to tell if he's the kind of villian that will stack of here with aj or a strong draw so 3 betting the flop ai would be risky. I think if i bet this flop and got checked raised i'd fold without any more info on villian and take it as a lesson to not cbet these flops with these kind of holdings.

Thank you both for the comments.

I agree, I should have checked behind him on flop. Keeping the pot small, and get a freecard to my str8 draw

If I'm betting the flop I have a plan for when I'm checked raised. I don't mind a shove here, but I enjoy spewing so take it with a grain of salt.

You have equity with your OESD that you'll show a profit even if Villain folds as little as 20% of the time. I can see the argument for checking behind on the flop some of the time, but I'd rather b-3bai here.
