Hey all, I have a really goofy hand I want info on.

So I’m at 1/3 Venetian at a fun table and have $400 give or take. I’m in sb and have Kk. Goes 4 limps and I have Kk and make it $20. 3 callers and we see flop of AAK with two clubs. Checks to me and I bet 50% pot so maybe 40 into roughly 80. 2 callers and we see a 10’of clubs on turn. I have no club I believe. It goes check to me and I check behind to try and go for max value on river. River is a 10. It goes bet 50/ call 50x and to me. I sigh call 50 even though I know I’m beat. Is it bad that I don’t bet turn? I ended up running into two Ax hands. I feel kinda lucky bc I’m quite sure I would have lost a ton of I bet turn and got raised bc I was calling.

I’m sure betting turn is the right play but I felt we could get more value on rivers that were clean (like say a 5 or another club per se). Did I goof? I was planning to get pot or 1.5x pot on clean rivers. As played, I’m sure it’s bad but I felt lucky regardless bc I feel I would have gotten raised on turn and got it in no question with the nuts honestly bc nobody has AA or we are super unlucky if we run into A-10. Is it bad not betting turn to try and get a ton of value on river or nah we played it ok?

Btw I know the river call is terrible.

My goal would be getting Villains to stack off against me by the river. The way we played it THEY feel like they are trapping a king.

I’m still betting turn for 2/3 pot to setup for River jams. Hypothetically an ace isn’t going to fold to any bet so “making it small” does’t do us any good.

By blasting off the river instead of the turn you might get 1 of the two players to fold an ace, instead of both players feeling “committed” given how much money has gone in.

AP river is gross

You get max value on the river by betting the turn. The board is set up for action, build the pot.

AP you can safely fold the river, I would not overcall here.

Yea the overcall was really bad. I’m never good. I find it insane we didn’t get it in on flop or turn honestly. I prolly raise an Ax on flop/ bet turn hefty (even though the 3 clubs are scary bc 2 clubs going to stick around on flop).

Anyone have thoughts on river bet if the board runs out clean? Say 5x. Let’s say the pot was $220. Would you be ok with going over pot as an all in? I assume I had 300-350 left in stack (not quite sure). I’m pretty sure I would go max for value- only worry would be is villian prolly going to show up with odd better full boat once in a while if they pair their Ax

Also when you set up a river jam, what is the goal % of pot you want? My think normally is you want maybe a tad over pot in stack to 60%. I feel ideal would be like 80% pot bet on river for value. I don’t mind betting 120% pot though on certain rivers to make it look like a bluff (polarized)- in tournaments I sometimes go way goofy sizes over pot with my bluffs/value to try and get max FE/value.

Bet turn ~2/3 because they either have an A and pay you or they don't and they fold to ~1/3.
