The villain, late 20s husky guy, had been quiet but had only been at table about 30 mins. I think he limped a couple times pf but no raises

i had been more active earlier, but not since Villain sat down.
Effective stacks:400

Hero opens to 11 in ep with K K, one mp caller, villain makes it 31 from BB, hero calls, mp folds.

Flop (75) 2 8 4

Vill bets 50, hero calls.

Turn (125). 8 villain bets 45 (weird), hero calls.

River 7

River (215) villain bets 100, hero ??

4bet pre. As played raise to 200 on river. If V has AA sucks for you. If he has an 8 then blame yourself for no 4bet pre.

I would have 4-bet preflop to around $90-$100, fold to a shove, mainly because there was already a caller before it got to villain and I don't want to see a 3-way flop sandwitched between the 2 players. Had MP folded and it was just me and BB calling has more merit.

As played I call the river. We beat QQ-TT chop with the other KK and lose to AA. You got what you bargained for keeping smaller overpairs in his range now call.

His turn bet actually doens't look that bizzare for live players. The top card pairing on the turn was a sacre card for him assuming he has an ovepair. He was afraid you hit trips probably. Once you just called he probably feels more confident about his hand and hence bets more on the river.

Some more thoughts, should have talked about mp caller too, he was very loose pf calling a lot of open raises with marginal hands, was chasing and hitting a bunch of draws all night, so i didnt mind him coming along, but maybe should not be thinking this way oop...thoughts?

At these games, i weigh a 3 bet in general very strongly to aa/kk with a little qq thrown in, esp oop. ( i had no fear of the 8s on the board) again, logical read? So had myself convinced this was a wa/wb situation, facing either aa or qq.

Anyway, turns out i just called river and villain ..

Spoiler:
Showed AQ for stone cold bluff, very rare at 1/3 in my experience
