H: only been here half an hour. Picked up a few pots pre

V seems pretty laggy. Have seen him show down 3c6c when he opened in the HJ and it got to showdown

OTTH folds to V in the LJ he makes it 12 I make it 35 with QcQs in the cutoff with 300 effective folds around he calls

(74) flop 8c8s3c

Check I bet 25 he check raises
To 75 we call. Seems okay right? Thought about just jamming but idk.

Turn 7c he bets 150

What do we do

So on the turn there's 224 in the pot with effective stacks of 190 and he bets 150?

What we do on the turn should have been decided on the flop. When you decide about your action against the c/r on the flop you also have to decide on what turn cards you call all-in (even though his bet technically isn't all-in) and on what cards you fold.

If you didn't do it during the hand, you should do it now. On which turns would you have called all-in and on which turns would you have folded?

our club might not even be live

So he's pretty laggy, but is he aggo as well? Calling is fine vs him otf, jamming would just be turning you're hand into a bluff.

He likes to play suited cards pre too which sucks if he has clubs again. If I've seen him raise a lot in the past like that, I would call, but I don't mind a fold either. These spots are very villain dependent but with no reads and in a vacuum vs some random it's usually a fold anyway.

I make it closer to $50 preflop. At this stack size, this offers very poor 8:1 IO, which means setminers won't be profitable (let alone anything else). Our 3bet sizing offered 13:1 IO, which while still pretty horrible is almost twice as good. But it is all about our own comfort level and what we are willing to risk versus reward. In position we're probably willing to have more risk, although a laggy player will probably be willing to call a little bit more too.

SPR is 3.5 and we're up against a laggy player on a board that has a draw, so we should feel committed (again a good reason to offer poor IO preflop as this was our most likely situation). So it is all about trying to get in all the chips as best as possible. Against a laggy player, I'm fine with a sucky looking weakish bet to induce. Although I'd also be fine with a PSB to setup a turn jam. The drier the board, the more I go smaller; the wetter, the more I go bigger.

As played, I think I'm ok with the flat. This gives him the chance to continue bluffing and attempt to push us off our hand. The wetter the board, the more I might just get it in now.

Not loving the turn card but I'm still getting in the rest of my chips here (we have very little behind so I just shove the rest in now). He could be value betting worse / going nutso. If he's outflopped us, this all comes back to the IO we were comfortable offering preflop.
