Hero has AhAd UTG, hero bets 17, 5 callers. Flop is 8s8d9d. Hero bets 35, UTG+1 calls, button calls. Turn Th, hero checks, UTG +1 checks, button shoves for 139. Hero has 200 behind and UTG +1 has 300 behind. What is hero's play?

With 5 callers here, it's very likely that you are beat.
I'm ok check/folding here readless.

Looking at it now I see it as an easy fold. In the moment I tank reshoved and UTG +1 snap called. UTG+1 shows 89o and button shows QJo.

Side note. Playing 1/3 live I very frustrating, it's very tough to get average hands to fold. Earlier in the day I opened KsKc for 21 and got 3 callers. Flop was Js7s4h, I lead for 30 and CO makes it 85, I suspected he had AJ or a set and was scared of flush draw, I tank shove for 189 more and he calls with Q7s...

Correction, flop was Js8s4h, excuse my sloppy posting, newbie here.

17 is not large enough at most 1/3 games.

We got 5 callers, the first one starts a cascade of callers.

We should go 25 at least if we are raising UTG.

It's live poker, someone will probably call.

I disagree. Unless the game is crazy, $17 is perfectly fine UTG (almost 6x the BB). It's even on the higher end. $25 screams AA.

OP, when you get called by two players on a paired flop and the turn card completes a straight, you should definitely fold unless both callers are drunk and have been showing junk cards at showdown.
