What's up guys - interested in your thoughts on this one.

1/3 NL Live - ~$300 effective stacks (hero has villain covered). villain is definitely a bit of a fish. has made some stupid bluffs, but generally very passive.

Hero dealt K2 on the button. 3 limpers, Hero calls.

Flop ($12) Q92

First to act (villain) raises to $15, one limper calls, one folds, Hero calls

($42) Turn: 2

Villain checks, limper checks, Hero raises to $30, Villain calls, limper folds

($102) Turn: 2

Villain checks. Hero - ???? I have next to no read on the guy. On the river i assumed he was gunning for the runner runner flush - assume he would've bet out if he was holding Q / 9 boat.

Fold flop.

On river bet whatever amount you think he will most likely call, you would know that better than anyone just reading the hand on here. Nothing wrong with an overbet, nothing wrong with a standard value bet, nothing wrong with betting super small either.

He is never folding a queen but he could easily make a good fold with a 9. That's why I'm more inclined to bet closer to a pot sized bet something like 75-100. I just don't think a smaller value bet is going to get paid off enough by a hand that is folding to a bigger value bet.

Preflop is questionable, K2o just isn't the sort of hand that really has any value, even with position in a limped pot.

Fold flop. It's one thing if it's just one person betting out, but we have to deal with a caller as well, on a relatively dry board. We basically commit ourselves to hitting a 5-outer and even then there's no guarantee we're live (a king could be a very problematic RIO card given that it finishes the one actual draw).

Once we hit the optimal card in the deck, the turn bet is good.

River I probably bet very small, about $40. I don't think villain is necessarily betting out a 9, in fact I would say a hand in that range is quite likely and I'm trying to optimize profits against a crying call range here. We've been checked to twice and have no reason to believe villain is particularly strong or is willing to hero call a larger bet in the hope of picking off a bluff.

$75. Betting and raising are two different things btw. Fold pre, I like raising betting than calling K2. OTF fold, I like raising better than calling here also.

I fold preflop. I certainly widen my range of hands I'm playing on the button, but that range doesn't include unsuited high card / low card junk.

I fold on the flop. We're not even getting 3:1 and we might be on a two outer since our K completes an OESD. I have no idea why we're calling here vs two interested players.

Turn looks fine.

River I ship. There's no way he's putting us on a two, a Q will never ever ever fold, and a 9 or any other pair might also have a tough time folding.
