I just joined this table and quickly won a few big pots, I'm trying to establish a loose splashy image early in the session. No comments on preflop action please, I'm only interested in the turn line and plan. FWIW I've played approximately 80% of hands dealt so far at the table and won almost every hand I've played.

Folds to Hero ($1000) in MP, limps 6 9

Folds to HJ ($600) raises to $15, CO ($550) calls, blinds fold, hero calls.

Flop ($45): 9 6 5

Hero checks, HJ bets $25, CO quickly calls, Hero C/R to $95, HJ folds, CO thinks for about 15 seconds and calls. No reads on CO, bearded Arabic looking man ~35 with headphones on, seems quiet.

Turn ($260): 9 6 5 7

Effective stacks ~$440, Hero??

Preflop is pretty awful. Flop raise is fine but might be a bit larger. On turn I think you need to check call. If you bet and he jams you are in a miserable spot and probably need to fold.

I know you don't want to discuss preflop but the only way you get into these decisions is poor preflop play.

You here to gamble and splash around, or play good poker?

Turn is a tough spot because it's hard to read villain's hand or play. You have been lagging it up and have a funky board. Villain could be taking a stand with worse or playing better carefully. Some hands that call flop got there on turn and other will be scared off.

I think check/evaluate is your best option. Better hands are not likely to fold and a lot of worse hands will be scared off. It isn't clear what is good/bad for you here because villain can be ahead already, be drawing to a flush, be drawing to a boat or be way behind. If villain is drawing to a boat you may catch a better boat. Without a good read on what villain's range is there are just too many hands and if villain is willing to build a big pot there is a good chance you are behind.

Also, fold preflop. If your trying to build a laggy image intentionally then raise rather then limp. Limp/call with 96o just makes you look fishy.

fold pre.

hahahahhahahahah. couldn't resist since that is all that this forum is obsessed about anyway.

as played, it is obvious that V has a flush draw when he flats a bet and a raise like that. but does he also have an 8?

I don't like bluffing with a hand that has showdown value, but I would bet out 125 and rep the 8. If he has the 8 with hearts, he is going to go over the top and we can just muck it.

but based on your description, he doesn't seem like he is aggressive enough to turn his flush draw into a bluff, so I would expect him to fold most of the time.

If he calls the turn I would check it to him and be prepared to call all bets that are non hearts.

While FOLD PRE may be overused sometimes, this is a fold pre.

What was the point of the limp in MP with this trash? What was your plan for the hand?

You say you want to be perceived as laggy and splashy. Meh.

Onto the hand, I think your raise on the flop is too small. I would raise to about $150. It's essentially a pot-sized raise.

I'd check the turn and call and re-evaluate.

You got yourself into a mess with your preflop call. Good luck getting out of it now.
