Game is live 1-3, very loose, effective stacks $500, 8 players.
Hero has A5 in late position.
Limps to button who raises to $23, 4 callers, Hero calls,
6 players see flop, pot is ~140
Flop: A 9 5
SB checks
BB bets $125
(Button mucks out of turn)
Folded to Hero

What's the most EV play, assuming BB will call a shove 100% when he's ahead and maybe 1/2 of the time with a good flush draw, strong ace or other trailing hand?

Raise to $300, call a shove

You can gamble and just call if you think he is on a Ax then let him bet the turn to get all the money in or jam now. If you bet $300 now it is all going in anyway but he may fold, which isn't a bad thing either. He may be flushing and if so make him pay to see the turn and river. But IMO he has Ax so I would smooth call then get it all in on the turn if possible.
