I am wondering if I played this optimally. I won the hand, obviously, but I question how I played all streets.

Hero BB ($340). Probably viewed as weak-tight and lucky by V1. I folded to several c-bets and raises from V1 so far. I did double up through him to about $450 earlier when I called his flop bet then raised his turn bet all-in earlier in the day with 79 on a 56:7Q and villain called with 6-8. I have not played a hand in probably an hour before this hand came up, and I was getting quite bored.

V1 Button ($350) competent LAG. Plays aggressive in position. Double-barrels fairly frequently. I haven't seen him show down trash, and is generally well ahead when cards go to showdown. Always seems to raise his button when limped to him. After I stacked him, V1 moved to the left of me.

V2 UTG ($200). Basically an idiot. Aggressive in the wrong place. Makes stupid raises. Can't fold when clearly behind.

PF
V2 calls, HJ calls, CO calls, V1 raises to $10, SB folds, I call with 56. V2 re-raises to $20, V1 calls, I call.

Flop 478 (pot $61)
I check, as I think I have relative position to an aggro-donk and a LAG. V2 checks but V1 obliges and C-bets $35. I call, hoping V2 is going for a c/r, but V2 folds (WTF?).

Turn A ($131)
I check, V1 bets $70 and I call. (would a c/r have been appropriate?)

River 2 ($271)
Hero bets $45 to induce a raise from V1. V1 complies and raises to $100. I push all-in, villain calls. Villain doesn't show.

Please comment on all streets. By the way, I realize that being bored is not a reason to call with unsuited connectors in the BB to a small raise, but against the button, I thought it may be reasonable.

I think raising the turn makes you more money in the long run. V1 has shown a lot of strength here and with the coordinated board there are lots of river cards which could kill action for you.

I raise the turn. Only because in your previous hand he called your turn raise pretty light with a draw. If he is going to continue with his hand he's most likely going to call and it's much easier to get money in that way.

For what it's worth I'd fold preflop. Our hand just is not that good oop 110 big blings.

I could somtimes see myself also getting stuck in there preflop. At this table and this lol raise size, we will no doubt be going 5ways to the flop, and the price is good, although we will be OOP with a fairly crap hand; I probably just dump it preflop, but I might find that hard to do with idiot in the hand (especially if there are others). And I think we're getting too good a price to fold to the 3bet closing the action, so I'm stuck in there again too. Preflop is defensible, imo.

I would just donk a PSB on the flop. We hate life if the flop checks thru, the board is very drawy and there are a bunch of cards that can kill action / hand, etc. Also sets us up for a simple shove against the idiot. This might be highly exploitable by those who are capable of exploiting us, but in general with a monster made hands we should be donking flops in multiway pots while only check/raising huge draws, imo.

Even as played, I probably just donk the turn (can't play for stacks if it checks thru, a boatload of crap cards could come on the river). Otherwise, I'm definitely check/raising on this board and just hoping Villain has something this time.

I also dislike the attempt at provoking a raise on the river. First off, against most villain's this simply doesn't work. Secondly, there is << PSB left on the river; I just see any bet as pretty much committing our stack and I doubt a villain is going to attempt to bluff us off that. Even as played, I would just open shove the river unless I think villain is on a busted draw and is capable of 3barreling.

1) villain is not a competent LAG if he's 3xing over 3 limpers

2) fold preflop. 65o is garbage OOP multiways

3) terrible spot to slowplay. So many action killers on the turn. In fact, I would lead the flop because I'm afraid of it getting checked through (boards like this often do)

Looks to me like you got super lucky and villain just happened to have a big hand. This was a pretty bad spot to slowplay though IMO

Loose/passive is not a strong playing style and will be a losing strategy in the long run. I did enjoy this ultra sssssssslllllllllloooooooowwwwwww pppppppppllllllllllllaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. I can feel the space-time continuum grinding to a halt. Lol

Yeah, I just did not get why you did not lead the turn. He likely C-bet an Ax type hand and hit the turn and betting into him is likely to cause him to raise right now and you might even get it in on the turn.

I agree with this, and it is actually why I posted the hand. I won, but believe that I made an error on the turn by not leading or c/raising. Even though I doubled up, I think I did make a serious error by not betting this turn. If nothing else, by playing the nuts this passive, it will take away some fold equity in future hands if I lead big on the turn.

I also know that I should not have been playing pf OOP to a raise against a competent LAG. I think I played the flop okay given the two villains tendencies, and am not sure about the river, but I agree that I played the turn as poorly as possible.

I want to get involved with the awful player, too, but not with 56o from the blinds. No card advantage, no position advantage, no initiative advantage.
