I'm interested in an outside perspective on how this hand played out. My first time posting a hand history so please inform me if I am missing critical information that I may have left out

$1/$3 Live in a new shiny casino which attracts a lot of recs

I've played on this table for a couple of hours and there might have been one 3 bet preflop. The table is loose preflop as a raise to 13-15 usually gets around 5-6 callers to the flop. My strategy for this table was just to hit big hands and go to value town.

V1 is an older white male ~50 wearing sunglasses and a hat. A little bit looser than an omc but not by much.

V2 is a middle aged foreign player who was loose aggressive when he was down but is a lot tighter now after doubling up through hero after hitting a runner runner straight on hero barrelling all the way. Definitely a recreational player but is capable of bluffing

9 handed
Dealt to hero 7s 8c in MP2 -$850
V1 in HJ -$600
V2 on Button -$850 effective

Everyone limps and BB checks so it's a family pot

Flop 10c 9c 6s ($27)

Checked to hero and hero bets $20

Folds around to V1 who raises to $45

Folds to V2 who raises to $90

Hero ???

What are the merits to raising and what are the merits of calling?

Raise $275 - $285. I'd never call here oop with the nuts after a raise and a re-raise. A lot of turn cards suck for us and I don't imagine they are both just going to fold after showing that much strength. We want to gii vs sets and draws while we have the most equity. I don't see a lot of merit in calling. If the turn is a blank and you check villain 2 might take a free card allowing one of them to outdraw you or just miss a street of value.

does it matter that by 5 betting here we basically turn our hand face up?

With a 3! and 4! we should definitely 5! since we'll be seeing a lot of sets, 2p, and 6Xc. With these hands, not a lot of turn cards will be good for us (any pair hitting the board or c) so a 5! to ~$250 should let us get value off of club draws (live-rec players tend to over value flush draws from my experience) and comfortably get calls from sets or 2p that are hoping a club or 8/7 doesn't hit (which we're holding blockers to both)

Thanks for your input everyone, I opted for a flat because I thought that a 5 bet would be too strong and blow them off two pairs or a set which in hindsight doesn't make sense because I should be charging them to hit or getting the money in while I'm ahead... I also thought that by holding the 8c I block the combo draws that they have to JcQc, JcKc, Ac7c maybe? Well on to the the turn..

Hero Calls ($90)
V1 Calls ($90)

Qh ($297)

Hero??

See... even an off suit queen sucks but I'd still Bet $250. You can still get called by sets and draws... why do you think having the 8 of clubs blocks KcJc???

Raise the flop! Now, bet the turn (at least $200 - $250) and never fold (on turn, anyway).
