Okay, final one for the saturday sessh.

[1/3] BB eff $39, others Eff. $304. 7 players.

Blinds post 1/3
UTG raises to $17.
UTG+1 calls $17
CO calls $17.
Hero is BUT with A7 and calls $17 ???
Spoiler:
Oppy for a squeeze? I just don't think I get folds, and raising to $90 or so for the 3 bet would be pot-committing given stack sizes. Additionally, BB is a shortstack.

SB folds
BB shoves for $39 total.
UTG calls $22.
UTG+1 calls $22
CO calls $22
Hero calls $22. ???

Main Pot is $196. Side Pot is $0. Flop A2Q

UTG bets $60.
UTG+1 calls
CO folds
Hero calls $60.

Main pot is $196, Side Pot is $180.
Turn A2Q3

UTG checks
UTG+1 bets $60.
Hero is All-In for $205 ???

Result:
Spoiler:
UTG+1 makes a crying call. Don't remember and didn't write down river but I remember I didn't make the flush on it. A pair of aces, 7 kicker is still good for both the side and the main. No other players show.

Fold pre. You're getting a terrible price with a hand that is crushed by UTG's range. As played I would call turn, not shove. Top pair bad kicker with the nut flush draw is not the type of hand you need to turn into a bluff, and I imagine you lose to more of the hands that call you than you beat.

Fold preflop. Definitely don't squeeze.

I would turbofold the flop. UTG should never bluff into a dry side pot and there's a caller in between. Your weak top pair is worthless.

I mean, I guess we're the Button and we're getting about ~20+:1 IO preflop, so I'm not going to hate on making the first flat. But I think I mostly fold to 6x sizing, plus the fact that BB could see this as his go-home hand and shove (where we'll have to fold to someone isolating him). Ug, and now such a stoopid spot closing the action preflop, but man we're going to have to smash the flop due to a very small SPR; in spite of immediate odds and some IO, I'm guessing calling here isn't great either. I think you could actually make an argument for a shove at this point with all this dead money, but in my game I see too many people with QQ/AK here sigh calling, plus our line makes no sense, so that might not be great either.

Trivial fold on the flop for me. Dude is betting into the world in a protected pot and is called, we should have the best hand here approximately never and aren't getting the odds to bink our 3 outer (which might not even be good).

And I just take my odds on the turn. Yeah, there's a side pot worth winning, but I'm not sure we have enough of a stack behind to get anything to fold at this point. So I just call hoping for the overcall and then to bink a disguised backdoor in position (which should get paid off).

ETA: Lol @ results, awesome. But I still think the whole hand was pretty spewy / fishy.

id probably call pre the first time around, i think its whatever but we're otb and multiway.

its likely close ev wise and life is short. the second time around after short stack jams is really interesting to me. i dont think id backraise this hand but i do think you want to be jamming quite a few hands here to isolate. its possible bb's stack makes our hand a fold pre the first time around. like i think 88 is for sure a jam

post, probably just fold the flop when they bet into a dry side (especially after someone calls!) and id just call the turn without expecting much if any fe and being behind always but it looks like u did way better than i would have lol
