V- is a huge fish and plays every hand. Will bluff in any spot and lost 3 buy ins when i played with him last week in under an hour. He has about 400 and hero has 350.
Folds to V on button and makes it 15, hero calls with 77 in the sb and it's heads up.
(30) Flop 2-d 3-s 4-c hero checks, V bets 20 hero calls.
(70) Turn J-s it goes check check.
(70) River 8-h hero checks V bets 110. Hero?

It feels like you need to be good something near 40% of the time to make calling correct on the river. Based on your read and if it's accurate, your opponent likely bluffs frequently enough to make calling this river bet OK.

You probably need to be a little more specific on "will bluff in any spot" and what that means. Specifically, what does an overbet on the river mean?
If you've seen him do this with air / missed draws before, then by all means you should go check-call on the river.
If you haven't, I think it's a check-fold or maybe a blocking-bet (~$25-$30 river bet)/fold on the river.

I probably play the hand the same way to the river. Against a guy who is big into bluffing, who checked the turn on a drawy board, and then bet big on the river when no draws completed (does he want us to call or fold?), I would probably call.

I mean, what's he repping?
88? J8?
Flopped nuts that slow played the turn?
I'd call.

I'd want to know how often he overbet a but he's not really reping much. Kinda want to call his ass. Gotta know what his bet sizing is like though.

Is this wild player polarized or has he/is he capable of making/spewy enough that he bets like this with less than stellar hands, but hands that still beat you such as garbage jacks or 8x?

Ahhh, dirty spot. Against described villain I probably call, but not stoked about it

The only hand he's repping is 88. Some fish will overbet when they hit their good card, but a lot of them will go for smaller value. Your history and observing of this villain counts a lot in this hand. Have you seen him overbet bluff the river? This is also a not so frequent spot where live tells come in very handy.
Who am I fooling? Against a spewy fish I just sigh and call.

I'll keep it simple:
If you have seen an overbet bluff from him on the river before...then call.
If NOT, he has 88 and you should fold....
