Stacks:

Hero -350ish
Villain - 800ish

Villain has been the beneficiary of a sick run and seems a little cocky. Lots of limp/calling with marginal hands and then trying to push people out post-flop. I've been playing pretty TAG and won a bunch of pots without showdown. No relevant hands against Villain.

I get dealt 10-10 in UTG+1 and open to 15. Folds to SB (villain) who calls, and the BB calls as well.

Flop comes 9-9-4r. Checked to me and I open for 35. Villain quickly raises to 85 and the BB folds....

This is a common bluffing flop. Villain can also do this with hands as weak as 33 or A4, because your hand looks like ace or king high here to villain. At the same time, you only have a weak overpair and it's possible villain has 9-X. Call flop, fold turn. People are going to say "why call flop when we know villain will always bet turn?". Well, he won't always bet turn...I'd only expect him to if he's got like 55+ or 9-X.

Call, it's a great bluffing spot, and there shouldn't be much in his flatting from the SB range that has a nine in it. You are in good shape against most of his range (except 55) and should just give him rope to hang himself... unless you think he has three polarized streets in him. In that case, it's better to fold now, even though you are likely ahead, as you don't want to play for stacks with a small overpair.

Re-raise $100 and fold to 4-bet.

Villain is never going to put you on 9x, and your hand is faced up once you call. When you flat the CR, villain will probably be subconsciously aware that you do not want to stack off in this spot, and continue with the pressure. Plus you only have a small over-pair.

When you re-raise $100, you're telling villain that you're probably not folding your over-pair, even though you will, and it's up to him to see whether he's willing to continue with the hand.

But then again, if you like small margins, this is one of them. But I wouldn't fold to turn or river bets if I am flatting the flop, unless there are very noticeable betting tells or physical tells.

The last two don't, unless he is god-awful. A9s, and the connectors, suited or not, are possible.

im calling here and reevaluating the turn. we are in position and his raise size was pretty small. usually with rec type players i see them raise too much, or minraise when they have the nuts here or near nuts. also remember that when someone seems to be running the table over it is very possible that they are on a sick run of cards, youre only seeing like 30 hands and hr maybe.
